Stat building time for Devers. Before today's game Verdugo actually led Devers on the list of top 50 AL hitters by BA, but Rafi's OPS exceeded 1.000

I am fully counting on the win today, but we continue to burn the BP for 5 innings a game. That's survivable for maybe a month but not for a 162 gamer

Or the Angels catcher.

What is his C ERA, MVP . I know you are a believer, lol

Oh NOOOOO, McGuire is catching Jansen for the save. Is there no justice ?

Just caught up on delay. Moving sucks. Great win. Tepera's 3-2 breaking ball to Ref might be the most ridiculous pitch choice I've ever seen given the situation with Rafi on deck and bases loaded.

Sox pitchers take note: Kenley threw 8 pitches for 3 outs. Every one a strike or swing and miss. There may be something to that concept

Great win with 2 comebacks to overcome insufficient pitching

13 man staffs help.

Wink pitching 2-3 innings every few days helps.

We have Bello and Paxton due, soon.

For early in the season, SP'ers going 4-5 IP every game is not so bad for the pen.

14 games: who is close to being burnt out?

IP/Gm

12/6 Wink

7.1/6 Kelly

7.1/7 Brasier

7.0/7 Schreiber

7.0/7 Martin

7.0/6 Ort

4.1/5 Bleier

4.0/4 Jansen

3.0/1 Crawford

Brasier, Ort and Kelly are exchangeable for Bello, Paxton and Crawford.

That was KOJI-like.

Let's recheck those numbers April 30, and May 15 when the sample sizes are more significant. Hope to see a definite trend improvement from the starters

Good thing we signed Jensen. Jensen haters be hiding in sand. Or waiting for an implosion who knows.

Weird game

Being down twice and still winning is a good sign that this team has some fight in them.

It was good to see some slumping players show life.

We are still getting some breaks, but we are taking advantage of them, often.

Wong Chang were 4 for 7 with 2 runs and 4 rbi.

We got on base a lot...

2/5 Verdugo

2/5 Turner (+catcher interference)

4/5 Refsnyder (someone bitched about him batting 3rd)

1/5 Devers (HR)

2/4 Kike

0/3 Arroyo/Tapia (+ reach on catcher interference)

1/4 Casas

2/3 Wong/McGuire (+reach on catcher interference)

2/4 Chang

Angels' manager after game: "I told our catcher to only interfere with Devers' swing. He must have misunderstood me."

Angels' catcher: "I know my manager told me to only interfere with Devers' swing, but everyone was wearing #42 so I didn't know which one was Devers."

We also had a couple days off, so if you look at days vs appearances and IP, no RP'er looks close to being overused.

15 Games in 17 Days (IP/Gm)

SP

14/3 Houck

14/3 Pivetta

13/3 Kluber

12/3 Sale

12/2 GS + 1 RP Crawford

5/1 Whitlock

RP

12/6 Winckowski

8.1/8 Brasier

8.0/7 Ort

8.0/8 Schreiber

7.1/6 Kelly

7.0/7 Martin

5.1/6 Bleier

5.0/5 Jansen

No RP'er has averaged more appearances than 8 in 17 days (less than once every 2 days.) Most are averaging about .41 to .47 IP per day.

One could argue Jansen needs more work to stay sharp.

I think we are looking pretty good, this time of year.

I'm hopeful having Whitlock in the rotation will help, and some of the struggling SP'ers will start doing better and maybe going 5-6 IP.

What is with all the catcher interferences, this year- both by and to us?

Imho, he'll play for whomever gives him the most 'green.' Remember these guys are mercenaries.

I think players do that in all sports, not because they want the money, but because they see money as a mark of value or worth. But Ohtani is already going to make more than any other player in history. He'll go where he wants to go.

It doesn’t always come down to money BUTit usually does.

When it doesn’t come down to money, said player is still probably take the 2nd best offer to go where they want. And it has to be close.

Loving the work of Kenley Jansen so far

Having a legit closer through the season makes all the difference.

Said that, I have to be honest on this but I thought the best days of Jensen had been gone. Hopefully he keeps this way.

Early on in the year, starters don’t go as deep into the games. Plus, the starters have been terrible at times. I would bet on improvement.

“More money than anyone in history” severely limits his options.

He’ll be a Dodger…

Any PLAYER in history. I mean, I wasn't implying the dude was going to make more than, say, what most of us on this board make. But yeah, I'd say LAD or maybe San Diego.

He led the league in saves, as long ago as last year.
