If Ohtani was just a hitter, he would probably get a contract averaging about 30-35mil/yr. If he was just a pitcher, he would probably receive about the same.

I'm guessing he will be looking for 500 mil for 10 years.

He'll be 29 in July.

If we get Ohtani, we'll just be the Angels, with two stars and a non-playoff team.

But we might be able to get two top of the rotation starters for the price of one Ohtani.

Let teams in NY and California get into a bidding war, while we sneak in and sign Urias to a Sale deal... then we can help out the poor Brewers by taking Yelich off their hands, as long as they throw in Burnes (who we'll also sign longterm)...

Since implementing the stupid 'beat the clock' rules, the average length of a 9 inning game has been reduced by 20 minutes. Whoop de doo. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Ballpark vendors aren't happy about the shortened game. They feel it doesn't give many fans time enough to get drunk enough to order hotdogs. Thank you Jimmy Kimmel for that insight.

After blowing last night's game, the Angels planned to attack today with broken-bat pop-ups.

That may seem out of the Ort inary, but they practiced all morning.

6-6, the Red Sox are right back in this thing! If they tack on another 6 -- and extend the scoring to 6-6-6, the Angels will never recover.

Unless you believe that good always wins over evil.

No reason to believe that.

Wong and Chang make me think it is Shun Yen again. Killer Duo.

Until bottom 6 when they both revert to their own means

Teammates say Bleier is a jokester. On the NESN telecasts, he always looks bemused when he sucks.

I remember Joe Kelly was quite the jokester on the SOX. I guess being a jokester adds to their contract.

Will JH allow Bloom to go after Ohtani during the next offseason?

It won't matter. There will be plenty of suitors. Ohtani surely knows the recent history of the RS and the way they've treated their stars, and the crap they put on the field. Why in the world would he want to be part of this? when he could go anywhere he wants.

Shohei has all but said he will only play on the west coast. His car is Dodger Blue

Clearly why he signed with the Angels.

Ohtani doesn’t care how the Sox “treated” Betts and Bogaerts. He’s going to take the largest offer. He didn’t hire an agent to get him to a “star friendly” team, because that won’t matter. His contract will be guaranteed. And if he for some reason neither of us can comprehend decided the Sox were unfair to Betts, or, as I’m recently hearing was a star, Christian Vazquez, his agent will deftly explain how that benefits Ohtani, by freeing up more money.

Or maybe Ohtani will talk to the one star on the Sox he knows - Masataka Yoshida. I’m sure Yoshida has plenty of tales of mistreatment.

I have extremely serious doubts Ohtani signs in Boston for one obvious reason - they simply don’t pay the most to star players anymore. Having Yoshida is really the only thing that keeps them in the running, but even that operates on the assumption the two actually like each other..

Easily believable given how he signed with the Angels in the first place…

Ohtani has also expressed that he wants to play on a championship level team . Could be Giants or Dodgers or the new evil empire, San Diego Padres

Angels being error free so far has hindered the SOX offense. Still 3 innings left for the Angels to fix that.

Lo and behold; the Angels did bring their gifts today. CI is scored as an error.
