Sale reminding me of 3-4 years, maybe more, of Sox starters having no clue in 1st inning, getting behind and then finding the rubber beginning in the 2nd. Questioned the mental and physical warmup in Boston the last few years.

The last good starting pitcher developed in the SOX farm was Buchholz. I'd guess since then the Rays' farm has developed, at least, a dozen.

Chang's hard hit ball should have been his first hit, but sometimes the defense takes away your best effort. Some teams do value defensive skills or players in their best position

No not at all. Quite the opposite. I think it’s a credit to him trying to carry the team when they need it. That’s what your star does. Unfortunately it sometimes doesn’t work.

It's disappointing that even casual Sox fans I have talked with lately have noticed this point. He can be such a better hitter with a better approach. There's just nobody that can pick him up in the batting order... but no coaches that can talk sense into the $330 million dollar man?

Even if you're an optimist, it's pretty obvious that if the Red Sox somehow rebound and become a competitive ballclub again, it won't be with a lot of the men defiling their laundry right now.

 

There's not many that even look like they want to be big leaguers right now.
