More transactions:

IF/OF Max Ferguson AAA -> A+

LHP Rio Gomez off of AAA development list

And not a transaction, but Dinelson Lamet will enter the AAA rotation and will start tomorrow. Barraclough tonight, Drohan Sunday.

Prediction: one of those three will be opening for Boston in the next month. Or bulking. And maybe setting upping. But not closing.

Bearclaw is actually trying to reset his career by becoming a starter. So far in AAA, not so bad...

Not sure I want any of them pitching for BOS this season.

Many of Bloom's prospects are rising quickly.

I think this is an excellent point Hang’em Chaim’s emphasis on contact hitters shows well in actual games!!!!!

Too bad he has less interest in developing pitching

I'm not sure we can say "less interest in developing pitching." He certainly does not like to draft them highly or give the biggest IFA bonuses out to pitchers, but my guess is, developing pitchers is a very high priority for Bloom. It's the only way he can get some from our system.

i like his drafts and IFA signings. The vast majority are too far away to see results, but some of the ones he traded for or added via Rule 5, have contributed, already. Bello is DD's guy, but I think Bloom's crew helped him develop well.

Give it time. Much of the value is still speculative, but I think our young pitching is improving from where we have been over the last decade, despite no top pitching picks or IFA signings.

In terms of acquiring talent, resources are limited, the fact that Hang’em Chaim invest such little resources to pitching in very telling concerning his strategy!

It seems like his goal is to stockpile blue chip prospects, and hitting prospects are less likely to falter…

I disagree. He drafts the players with the best chance at doing well, and they are everyday players.

It does not mean he does not value pitching or have a strategy on finding pitchers.

He found Whitlock, Winckowski, Schreiber, Bernadino, Kelly, Denlinger, Jacques and ...

I guess he should draft inferior players, just because they ar pitchers.

We have two blue chip prospects. Mayer and Blies!

We have a couple above average prospects. Yorke, and Anthony!

We have a dozen quality prospects and all are hitters!

We have only two pitchers with above average stuff. Winkleman and montgero! But winkleman has huge command and control issues,

The pitching depth on the farm is virtually non existent

SP’s says Perales has the best raw stuff in the system.

They rank Drohan the highest but do not say he has great stuff.

Our minor league pitching depth was hurt by 5 pitchers graduating in the last year:

Bello

Crawford

Winckowski

Kelly

Bernardino

And a few called up, this year:

Murphy

Walter

Jacques

Kelly and Bernardino didn’t move the needle in the system in anyways and Winckowski is turning out to be a better player than he was a prospect. But yes, the others hurt. Bello wasn’t eligible for prospect status by only a few innings this year.

Sox could of been looking at an additional first round pick next year if they didn’t eff that up

If Anthony keeps this up he could move himself into blue chip territory.

Bernardino and Kelly might end up being helpful pen pieces, but yes, neither move the needle.

Wink looks like he will stick around a while and might be viewed as evidence the Development aspect of our system is improving. (Bello, Crawford too)

Drohan got lit up again with Woo. Dalbec hit his 22nd. Schreiber pitched an inning in rehab.

Wikelman is really coming around: 6IP, 4H, 0ER, 1BB, 9K!

Bernardino is 31 and a classic journeyman. He was signed off waivers from the M's. If he continues to pitch well he'll fall into the "nugget in the trash" category.

Jacques was an MiLB Rule 5 pick. At 28, there's not much to him either.

Most likely true, but we felt the same about Schreiber, too.

Schreiber spent a whole season in AAA pitching great for the PAWSOX. Jacques was mediocre even in AAA this year.

Jacques is just up because he's a LHP.

What do you guys think of Ronaldo Hernandez as a possible C/DH? He's hitting good at AAA, I'm looking at the numbers and the numbers say don't count on him for defense as a catcher but as a DH who could back up at catcher, that's kinda interesting. Could have him on the roster as a DH who could play as a third catcher, he seems to have the stick for it, or at least the potential stick Edited by Dojji

Nope and nope.

He’ll be back soon and still surprising you, like last year and early this year.

He’s been a mildly pleasant surprise, but we probably never mention the name again after 2023…

Bloom has swung and missed on a few pitchers, this year but Jacques has been okay, so far, and Bernardino has more BTV than McGuie, Liu and Chang. He’s almost worth as much as Pivetta or EValdez & Arroyo combined.

Stephen Scott since being promoted to AAA:

21 G

4 HR

22 RBI

13 BB

8 K

318 AVG

1003 OPS

I know his LHB would play well in WOO, but only 1 of his HR came at home.
