Rizzo for 2-$40mil essentially. $17 mil for 23 and 24 with a $6mil buyout of a $17 mil option for 25. He’s a good leader, good defender, power hitter who makes contact and should tremendously benefit by the lack of a shift. I like the move. Price wasn’t prohibitive

Been and will continue to be MIA for awhile. New businesses plus my hospital job leave me little free time outside of playing with the kiddos.

But Hal’s comments concern me. Yanks now playing big small ball. Need to be efficient with the payroll? No you don’t. Your team is worth 50% more than the team below you. You need to stay on brand and build a winner, not an also ran

Hal is the epitome of complacency. Fortunately, for non-Yankee fans.

It's essentially $20M x 2 or $17M x 3.

And if he hits a grounder to the pitcher in the playoffs, they'll boo him.

And now the alleged strategy for the New York Yankees and Mets - COLLUSION!

Apparently Andy Martino has found the Mets (primarily so far) and Yankees seem to have the exact same type of agreement on free agents that MLB has been sued for three times already.

It does seem more the Mets, but then Asian those are the only people Martino has talked to.

But this could get very, very ugly…

Interesting case.

Interesting case.

It could be enormous. Or nothing.

It could be Cohen admitting to collusion with the Yankees. Or it could be him trying to give an excuse to his fans about why he isn’t dropping $400mill on Jusge…

Or it could just be how Cohen feels. I dont think there is anything there.

FYI, Yanks in on Matasaka Yoshida. Guys is a lefty hitting outfielder with high avg, walk rate and good power. He plays OF, which is a spot the Yanks need to fill the most.

I think the issue is whether Cohen actively communicated with the Yankees to let them know he wouldn't be bidding on Judge, because he "values their relationship".

Yes, sir.

Part of me thinks it’s just a story Cohen’s camp out out there because they just don’t want to pay for Judge but don’t want to look cheap.

I mean, the only other option is he’s colluding with the Yankees but too stupid to hide it. Why would the Mets brazenly admit this to the press, unless it’s a cover for something they think makes them look worse?

Yes, sir.

Hey when I’m the guy defending the Yankees, there is absolutely reasonable doubt. I’m fine accusing them of starting the Crimean War, kidnapping the Lindbergh baby and getting Arrested Development cancelled. And I’ll do it all without proof…

Just because he's rich, doesn't mean he's isn't dumb.

The Lindbergh baby deserved it.

True.

Of course even in my scenario, I didn’t portray him as smart…

Manfred has the documents to verify, but he waved his hands to declassify them... now his office is busy recoloring the pinstripes to Cubs' blue or Rockies' purple.

Yanks did nothing wrong here yet. It doesn’t even register.

It’s a bit early to say “No verdict? No crime.” Which I would bet is how that Bob Marley song appears on kissthisguy.com

It’s a word from someone familiar with the Mets thinking. If an owner, who has a good friendship with Steiny, decided not to get into a bidding war with Steiny, then that’s not Steiny’s fault. Now is Steiny and Cohen sat down and discussed it, then that’s collusion

Yanks again looking to the Pirates for trade help. Brian Reynolds would be a great pickup, but I shudder at what the price will be. 3 yrs of an all star caliber OFer whose true 5 tool at arb pricing is not cheap to acquire. Yanks prior pickups from Pitt had their warts. Holmes wasn’t good before we got him. Taillon had come off TJS. But Reynolds is prime and coming off another solid year. I would not deal Volpe for him, but it’d likely start with Peraza and maybe Dominguez. I’d rather we just sign Conforto and stop being f***ing cheap

Reynolds' career dWAR is a below-replacement level. Someone will overpay for him, but as I've said elsewhere, as a Sox fan I'd rather trade the farm for a Gold Glove catcher who can hit, rather than for a home run hitter who can't catch.

Neither- get a SP!

Cashman has ensured the Yanks make the playoffs every year and build a decent to good farm system to deal from or promote. He went for it this year, but again only half assed and ended up with an injured starting pitcher, an injured reliever and a soon to be injured contact hitter. Rolled snake eyes. My issue is he leaves holes EVERY YEAR at the beginning of the year that we need to backfill at the deadline with prospect capital. Spend big one off season, fill all holes and then let the kids fill in when they are ready
