Like to see Nate get out with a win, as the Sox continue to poke Rays in the nose with jabs. Knockout punches were lost in July/August.

In seriousness, the difference between the Rays win total , and inclusion in playoffs, and the Sox wins are 10, pending these final 2. Can you think of 10 games this year that were late losses?

Probably more.

The Rays and Os might have 10, too.

Brian Fallon of Gaslight Anthem will be singing the National Anthem tonight for those keeping score at home.

2nd/3rd, nobody out once again . Pham K's for the 3rd straight time ; Devers works a walk to set up Bogaerts; Xander sets the ball on fire with a GSlam. Best player on this particular team.

If somehow the Sox do work out a better deal for Bogaerts, my only question will be if Trevor Story can keep up with X over the next several years.

Pham finishing the season "not with a bang, but a whimper."

I'll stick with Devers as best player.

He may well be next year , but needs to stay a little more even keel, at a high performing level over the 6 month season.

Every GM in MLB would take Devers over Bogey in a NY minute. And it's not about age, it's about production.

Cole breaks the Yankems' single season strike out record. Cole also gave up his 33rd HR of the season which leads the AL. Let's all hope he continues to continue his post-season suckage.

Add some mayo to that Cole Slaw.

Excluding the PED cheaters(Sosa and Bonds), Jim Rice's 406 total bases in 1978 is still the most for a single season since Joe DiMaggio's 418 in 1937. Judge at this point has 390 total bases. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

That was some season by Rice!

Amazingly, he had 15 triples in '77 and '78!

Congrats to Albert Pujols for his 703 HR's. Placing him 3rd by non-cheaters in total career HR's. He still plans on retiring after this season.

I was in St. Louis over the weekend and saw him hit #701 and #702. Magical time in a great baseball city. Albert is a special player and person.

Rice got pitched to. Rice got 50 more PAs in 78 than Judge. Judge also walked 53 more times than Rice. Judge has Rice by 83 points in SLG!.

Judge's 2022 season is one of the best seasons in major league history. Since 2000, the only players with 10.7 WAR or more are Bonds twice, Pedro and Mookie Betts. Bonds is a roid cheat. Mookie has been awesome and is on a HOF track. Pedro was Pedro. That is it

All this whining about cheating!!! Cheater!!! cheating !!!! No evidence provided that some guys did (or did so in an unacceptable fashion); no evidence that other guys (our guys) did not (or did so in a cute way that does not deserve punishment). Shees. It's like being on a middle-school playground. But it does have an up-side, in that it prevents the hysterical anti-'cheat' crowd from enjoying some of the greatest athletic performances of our lives.

Judge just had one of the greatest seasons of all time. But what's going to be the reaction if the Yankees don't win it all? Will Yankee fans gripe that the season was a failure... because they weren't the one team out of 30 to win the very last game of the year?

Yankee fans will not be happy if they don't win it all. They've been waiting since 2009, and a lot of them think less of Cashman than we do of Bloom, crazy as that may seem.
