Senga and Yoshida!

Hurrah!

I thought I read that Yoshida will struggle against LHP, or at least that is a major concern with him. Also, defensively he's a left field only profile. We need another CF/RF type on this team.

Sign me up for some Senga though.

With all these crazy prices that players are getting now it doesn't take much to put teams in the tax threshold. You would thing the tax threshold would be raised here

It should have been. Owners pushed back against it. Why didn't the bigger market teams stand up during the CBA negotiations and tell the smaller clubs to stick it?

I should have put my post in green.

I'm not sure Verdugo in RF and Contreras at catcher helps our defense, much at all, even if we improve on D at SS (???), 1B (Casas) and the return to health by Kike (CF) and Story (2B).

There is more smaller (or no tax paying) teams, and they love the revenue sharing, too.

Without the larger markets, the game is screwed. He should have played hardball. He didn't want to because THE LUXURY TAX ARTIFICIALLY REDUCES PLAYER SALARIES.

Owner revenue keeps going up and up and up and up though.

Here's what Mac Cerullo wrote about Yoshida in November (free article):

And they haven’t paid Soto yet providing he wants to stay.

Could they realistically pay Turner, Soto and Tatis?

They may be done with Tatis, who may be head on the trade market. s***** person, amazing skill set.

Giants reportedly offered Judge $360M for 9 or 10 years. I wonder if the go higher, if the Yanks match that.

Rodon meeting with the Rangers.

It seems like our owner is no longer in the same league with these free-swingers.

Maybe it was more about his defense. I wonder if Verdugo can handle a move back to RF?

Or perhaps we can sign Yoshida/Nimmo and trade Verdugo.

Verdugo RF 2022:

-17.3 UZR/150

-4 DRS (430 Innings)

The famed "sell low" strategy. Let's see how that works out.

@ChrisCotillo

Red Sox open to a catching upgrade but nothing going on with them and Willson Contreras, per source.

As others have reported, lots of leaguewide interest in Christian Vázquez. Sox meeting with his reps today but they represent a few Cs on open market so unclear the nature.

@redsoxstats

MLB Network saying the Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Mariners are in Masataka Yoshida and there should be a competitive market for him.

Kodai Senga has a robust market and teams are rating him near Rodon, the guess is over $20M AAV.

Senga at 20M?

I think a good pattern is to look at what MLBTR predicted and add 2 years $50mill…

I don't want Dugo in RF, but he was a plus 3.9 UZR/150 from 2020-2021, combined, with a 0 DRS.

420 innings

So 7 $125 for Senga then?

I don’t think he gets that.

This is what Verdugo defense in RF gets you.

This is great. Yankees will have to break the bank even more now, unless they decide to love on without him

Heaney to Rangers for $25M/2. (Incentives to up to $37M)

Senga has gotten 5 and 6 year offers.
