D. Santana vs B. Bello

Story

Arroyo

McGuire

Kike

Unfortunately, I have to attend a retirement party this afternoon. It isn't mine; that ship sailed quite a while ago. Anyway, I am very confident this GT will be in good hands during my absence. Of course, I'll be DVR'ing the game to watch when I return. I realize you are all disappointed that I can't be with you all today, but I will definitely be here for tomorrow's game and, hopefully, I will again originate the GT.

Like last night this is a good line-up. If everyone in it can stay healthy, the SOX could cause some havoc in September.

All that's left to say is

Go SOX!

Not really.

Last night the 7-8-9 were

Kike

Arroyo

Wong

Today we face a righty.

Arroyo moved up one spot.

McGuire goes into the 8 spot because he's a lefty hitter.

Cora doesn't totally believe in the hot hand stuff, nor should he.

The Rangers look like a team that is flat out tanking. The sweep is there for the taking. Will it give the Sox some momentum as they face the better teams ahead ? Stay tuned.

Sox take advantage of TX errors, bleeders etc. Usually what happens to us. Can Bello stay in control on top of his excellent 5 innings so far. Focus and concentrate Brayan, get your win

Bello setting himself for a strong finish, maybe 5 more starts . He will then be ready to compete well next ST for one of the wide open starting slots.

I’m happy to see Bello hasn’t allowed any runs, but does anyone else feel like he’s given up a lot of hard hit balls?

Not watching, but even if true, recall his first couple starts when he was giving up runs without the ball leaving the infield. Lots of soft contact (and lousy defense) in those games.

It evens out.

A number of his FB's are fairly straight. Good velo at 96-97 but not the kind of natural movement that Houck gets .

I do believe that the Sox have found their equal in this Rangers team!

The Strangers must have watched a lot of Sox video from August, thinking it was a training tape.

JDM got his hit/rbi but still runs like a cement mixer on low fuel.

I will say one thing about JD, he is slow, but he does always hustle. Can’t knock the guy too much for being naturally slow

I agree, just an observation about this start.

Rangers broadcast shows that he gave up 3 balls hit 105+ MPh that all ended up outs, including a 400 foot fly out to straight away center.

2 home runs out of the park and a virtual 3rd into Dugo's glove at the RF BP ? Whitlock's arm may be getting weary at this point but you also need to look hard at any more 2 inning outings this season. Let him get through the winter and see what he's spinning then. He magically made this a game at 5-3

Barnes coming in doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

That's ok, Fred, to feel no confidence. It makes you in synch with Barnes himself.

I don’t understand the logic. If Schrieber is available, why the f*** would you give the save opportunity to an inferior, shittier pitcher, just to bring in Schrieber to try and clean the mess? No logical reason barnes should’ve started this inning
