Duran CF

Devers 3B

JD Martinez DH

Bogaerts SS

Verdugo LF

Vazquez 1B

Plawecki C

JBJ RF

Jeter Downs 2B

Against righty Gausman, three lefty bats in the outfield--plus Devers. No Refsnyder, no Dalbec, no Cordero.

On June 27th, Gausman shut the Sox down (4 hits, 0 runs, 10 K's) for 7 innings. On April 21 and 5 days later, April 26, he pitched a combined total of 14 innings vs the Sox while giving up 1 run and striking out 17. Season to date, Gausman's ERA is 2.67, but against the Sox it's 0.43.

They're due.

The first game in this 11 game string , all but 1 at Fenway, to determine if this team as currently composed can make yet another run deep into WC contention. Is this the April & pre A-S version of the Sox, or the June avengers of all that is evil in the world ?

One thing you can count on--- they will be inconsistent . So many guys looking at possibly the end of their Boston career or the latest in WC teams that go against all odds to win the WS ? Red Sox team, you choose .

That was John Phillips, not Brian. John was good, but he wasn't a genius.

Interesting comment because it is exactly what Michelle told me when we dated briefly after their breakup. Needless to say, we ended it because she wasn't a Red Sox fan

Hopefully, the SOX can CATCH A WAVE and not get SHUT DOWN.

BTW, I'll be IN MY ROOM watching the game on NESN.

I hope you have Fun, Fun, Fun.

I broke up with Angie Dickinson during her Police Woman days for the same reason. Ended up dating Phyllis Diller because she loved the SOX.

Ref is 4-11 against Gausman and JBJ is 2-28. Is Cora the Brian Wilson of managers? God Only Knows.

It's getting embarrassing honestly. Cora is overrated.

OK. So bad defense costs no more than a run an inning. So 10 or 12 runs? That ought to do it. (as long as the middle relievers and closers rock).

Already starting off with bad fundamentals. Ffs vladdy was dead out at home

Eovaldi made the proper play. He was running hard towards first to field the ball, would have been very tough to stop, whirl and make an accurate throw for the tag. Not one to try in the first inning.

The trend of falling behind immediately remains . Let's see if they can respond with 2 runs.

Jays make a tough play on Duran. The balls hit to Devers right and to Bogey's left were just enough to be hits, followed by a swinging virtual bunt for the run.

Watch the replay. vladdy was so slow to react that even with nate going to first first they almost had a shot at him at home. He had plenty of time to make that play. Not even close

Key was what was Plawecki yelling. Nate’s got his back to the plate; catcher has to yell where the play needs to be made.

Either way, I’m not going overboard on it. Bogie’s poor throw set the inning up.

Already behind after the first inning. And Bogaerts strikes out on two pitches two feet outside the zone. We’ll miss you Bogey! Don’t trip on your way out the door!

And another ground ball hit in a good spot for a hit to start the second.
