One encouraging sign, despite the 400' out, was Barnes did not walk nor hit anyone for a free baserunner

The bullpen on a whole earned the W.

If Kike doesn't catch that drive, Cora would've yanked Barnes for Davis to pitch to Crawford.

Four in a row -- Franchy very much!

Yes, once Seattle had the first four, then 5, the door was shut by the BP resulting in a key win. Mariners cannot win this series.

I kind of predicted this a few weeks ago. I posted that I wouldn't be surprised if when the SOX offense started rolling, the starting pitching would get worse.

The BP in the last 10.2 innings has given up one run and that one run was the result of the DUGO/BOGEY collision.

Btw, the Pivetta complete game had a lot to with the BP's success.

Whitlock is a great reliever and an average starter, as I have said before.

Missed the due to my first lobster, and clam feed of the year, but as far as Whitlock goes I guess I didn’t miss much. As I’ve been saying all year to me he should be the closer.

Well, at least the SOX are putting some room between themselves and the O's.

Just 3 teams between us and Toronto. That's a lot better than just a few days ago. It doesn't take long to jump over several teams, sometimes.

We're only 1.5 games away from being the 7th best AL team.

Cue someone pointing out we are just 4 games from b eing the worst, too.

When we get to 500 I’ll get excited again.

Winning stretches are always exciting to me.

Getting to .500 would mean more wins, so I'm all in.

I said when Evol threw batting practice to Houston on Tuesday that it could be a turning point one way, or the other, and it looks like a good turn when JBJ hits a HR last night, and Barnes gets a save tonight. Things at the moment are looking up.

Seasons usually have extended periods of ups and downs. Let's hope this one has more ups than downs.

We can't afford another long down period like that one.

This Seattle fan picked a good time to vacation, taking a break from Mariner telecasts.

Two in-person college games provided a welcome respite.

That will occur after the May 31st game.
