I'll need more than a grand slam to be convinced that Frenchy will be a contributor. I will always have a soft spot for Vaz as he tends to come up with big hits late in games. He did it again the other night with a base hit to right. I still say he was safe at home, the catcher obviously reached with his bare hand and put the ball in his glove. I'm not convinced he didn't beat the throw, looked to be a tie to me.

Dalbec one of the fastest guys on the Team, your joking right? Lol

How many Pitchers in the bullpen now, 16?

When you have to use your backup catcher for the day to pinch hit speaks volume but I know looking through those pink hat glasses clouds your judgment

No closer

No bench

No 1B production

No RF production

Meanwhile thanks to Orlando, AB in KC .329 815 - Chavis .321 829

And I’m the idiot ? Lol

Benintendi this year: .329 AVG! 49 H! 41 1B. 4 2B. 2 3B. 2 2B. 84% of his hits are singles :(

Dude needs to do some pushups.

That's fine. I like that his k rate is down and his bb rate is up. His barrel rate almost triple what it was last season. His XSLG is .566. He has a 48.8 hard hit%. He's playing just fine this year if you ignore his defense. He's basically hitting the way you want JBJ to hit.

I'm not impressed that his numbers are considerably better than last year as last year he was a disaster. So he is making contact at a rate we wish JBJ would make contact, yet he does not have JBJ's defense and never will.

Call me pessimistic.

It's easier to ignore his defense in LF.

I guess. It doesn't seem like his primary position this year will be LF though. We'll have to see what the alignment ends up being.

You never know. If Dalbec heats up, like he did last summer, and our OF'er continue to all hit under .600, maybe we'll see him in LF more and more, especially vs LHPs.

That's a big IF with Dalbec. He's gone 115+ PA's without a HR. He looks really terrible this year. More likely he's spending his summer further down the Mass Pike.

I'm not predicting a Dalbec heat-up, but he looked just as awful last April and early May.

On May 6th, 2021: 1 HR 6 rbi and .507 OPS

May 26, 2021: 5 HR 21 rbi .640 OPS

On May 4, 2022: 1 HR 3 rbi and .441 OPS

May 24, 2022: 1 HR 6 rbi and .486 OPS

Nope.

5/24/22: 43 wRC+, 1HR, 486 OPS

5/24/21: 79 wRC+, 5HR, 699 OPS

It's not even close to the same thing.

I was going to post the same thing, but moon was a bit crafty with the "early May" part.

I did not say by May 24th.

Look at the May 6th numbers, as in "early May."

I never said he might heat up on the exact same dates. BTW, he's at a whopping .613 in his last 9 games! Signs of starting to heat up? Who knows?

Dude needs to do some pushups.

Sounds like Wade Boggs type numbers. And that guy was a DUDE for the Red Sox for a long time.

He'd still be a hell of an improvement over the sub .600 OPS group of outfielders the Red Sox are trotting out onto the field now.

But prospects right? So who did we get back and what are they doing now?

You'd rather we kept Workman and Hembree, instead of getting Pivetta and Seabold?

BTW, you do know, with the money saved on the Beni trade, we signed Renfroe to play OF, right?

Posted
Well, yes. You are the idiot.

But Dalbec’s 27.7 ft/sec is faster than everyone on the Yankees except IKF. (Yes, he is faster than Hicks.)

He ranks third in the Sox behind Cordero and Story. (But not Duran, who will bump him down a notch when he gets promoted.)

Can we get a troll with a clue?

Lol on the run time !

Your pink hat glasses have clouded your judgment

It’s not about straight line speed it’s about quickness base running skill and base running ability ask Lou Brock!

Dalbec is a beer leaguer no hitting ability oh but wait he has straight line speed! Lol

Betts AB Chavis Renfro soon to be XB the list is long and distinguished like my Johnson

Is Paxson in the rotation? Ok, I’ll check back later

.288 and a .779 OPS since the trade- hardly Boggsish.

Nobody said he was a great runner. We compared him to the even slower runners on this team you thought would have been better.

You also changed the subject on Vaz being the last catcher available. Just admit you were an idiot on that one, and stop moving the goalposts.

Another comment from the pink hat gallery

Player is and was the perfect 2 hole hitter, he gets on base ! What part of that don’t you understand?

But wait there’s always the possibility Cordero can hit a home run every 80 at bats

Not even close. Boggs hit lots of doubles.

And his OBP is 65 points higher than Beni's- more if you compare it to Beni's numbers after the trade.

Just saying both of their names in the same sentence is Pink Hat extraordinaire/ Beni apologist territory.

Benintendi is closer offensively to a slow footed Biggio.

59 I respect your passion but get a clue!

If the Team didn't carry 17 pitchers they would have had another pinch hit option other than Vazquez to USE in that spot. Im not saying Vazquez was the wrong choice Im saying there is no roster flexibility when you carry that many Pitchers and especially when several Hitters are struggling. Do you comprehend what im saying?

I'll give credit where credit is due. Seabold Pivetta deal was a good deal at the time. Workman was injury prone and Hembree flat out sucked.

Far as AB, he was 24 due "what was it" 8 million that year he was traded. The Player was a good defensive OF in LF, homegrown and was a champion. Where is the Patience I heard preached by Bloom?

Renfro replaced AB ? No he didn't, but in your world he did, so if thats the case, Renfro also traded which amounts to zero return for both players at the moment. A 25 yr old projected SP and a 3B prospect who is 23 in high A is not a good return for 2 Starting Calibor OF's.

You could have had AB KH Renfro with Verdugo as your OF and thats pretty damn good. Now you have 2 OF's under performing with two prospects who were to old to be traded for in the first place. Brilliant Strategy

Ill bet your one of those fair weathered fans who if someone was p!ssing down your back and telling you it was raining you would believe them wouldnt you? But thats OK, Redsox Ownership needs fans like yourself to fill the seats without caring if the Team succeeds or not.

Just do me one favor would you, next time when you call me names, make sure its "Mr." f#cking Moron.

Red Sox: Alex Binelas, 1B/3B (No. 21)

The hottest hitter in the Red Sox system for the second straight month, Binelas has batted .278/.423/.432 with six homers in his last 23 games in High-A. A third-rounder out of Louisville last July who came from the Brewers in the Hunter Renfroe trade in December, he stands out most with his power and ranks third in the High-A South Atlantic League with 10 bombs in 34 contests.

Need to wait on this guy before we finalize trade evaluation of Renfroe for JBJ.

How can those numbers be the "hottest" in the system?

Need to see how much Bradley contributes on O before we can fully evaluate the Renfroe for Binelas (and Hamilton) trade.
