If this team plays hard at the end of the year and gets to .500 but end up in last place, the narrative will still be "this was a last place team." Who cares if they are 81-81 or 75-87?

Not only a last place team, but behind the O’s, and there is no way to sugarcoat that, and nor it shouldn’t. This team came out of the gate losing, and they will end it losing, and yes they will end up a losing last place team. Let’s call it what it is. There are all kinds of reasons, and there should be all kinds of blame from TOP to bottom, and from players, and management alike. This is what $200M+ has gotten you, and yes have to pay some of that dreaded tax to boot.

And at the end of the day, all that blaming gets us nowhere either. We can be pretty sure neither Bloom and Cora are getting fired. It's almost time to focus on 2023.

Who f***ing thinks about the Orioles in that way anymore? They have a great farm system! They are above .500! If ownership doesn't get in the way, they could be a really good team for a long time. This isn't Robert Andino pumping out his chest anymore. These Orioles are a real baseball team. The Orioles have a better record than more than half of the American League for f***'s sake...

If you think the Orioles are just a doormat in 2022, you have no clue about the players on that team right now and haven't watched any of their games. Forget about the logo on their hats. Those players are young and good. Stop with that baby brained ********.

You can F all you want, but you shouldn’t blame the messenger, but blame the message. A last place losing team is what you got, and let’s just bring everyone back, and pat them on the back.

...while playing one of the toughest schedules in MLB.

Their only respite is they didn't have to play the O's.

Baby brained ********? Wow!

No one is saying that and you know it.

...and when I said just bringing back Bogey and JD would not improve the team from 2022, certain posters went nutty.

Are the old toughest schedule in MLB excuse, and if the Red Sox played in a different Div with teams that aren’t as good the Red Sox wouldn’t look, and be as bad. Is this what we have sunken too? Wow!

Maybe, because the logical response that would have been added would have been the Red Sox would be worse without them.

And is anyone saying some heads should roll? Not only no, but he’ll no.

Lots of people are saying heads should roll. So basically you're just taking a shot for the millionth time at those of us who think Bloom and Cora deserve another opportunity.

And of course it’s not the other way around. It works both ways, so if it’s bad for one side it’s bad for both. We disagree, and you don’t like my opinion. Nothing sets people off more on here than saying anything negative about Cora, or Bloom, and that’s the truth, so for the we got Cora, and we got Bloom people you got a last place losing team. CONGRATULATIONS.

Yes. The Orioles are 79-71. Do you think that's by accident? Do you think that's only because of Bloom?

The "opportunity" is "what if everyone didn't spend half the year on the IL?"

Iron sharpens iron. There are a ton of Wild Card spots now. I don't think the "tough schedule" thing is a good excuse in the Wild Card era.

I was calling for a fire sale PRIOR TO THE SEASON. Do you think I'm pleased with how this all turned out?

No I don’t, and neither was I.

Some on here have used that more than once already, and yes it is lame. that we agree on.

He won’t this year, but i don’t think Henry is happy with him.

Ok, so we know he won't fire Bloom this offseason so what's the point in quibbling over whether Bloom should be fired this offseason or next? If Henry's not going to do it, it's off the table.

CONGRATULATIONS to you too.

Let's talk about the "Fire Cora" thing for a moment.

It's his fourth season with the team.

1 championship and 2 ALCS appearances.

Once upon a time a Sox manager with that record would have been pretty highly regarded.

It does lend credence to the idea that Sox fans have become spoiled by success.

New thread title needed. Quick options: Dire Bloom. Liar Bloom. Buyer Bloom? Retire Bloom.

If Cora is going to get all the praise for 2018, and he has how come he doesn’t get any blame for this year?

5-6

5 games from 500

6 games from getting out of last place in the Div.

14 games left. Let’s just get this season over, and start on next year.

Getting close to being mathematically eliminated from the post season. Could happen in the next couple of days.
