You might convince yourself you see and tell "the whole story."

BTW, the whole truth is there is no such thing as a jinx, and I never put any game in the win column before it was over, even if there was such a thing as a jinx, but the whole truth is some believe in jinx.

My whole story is a lot closer to the whole truth than yours. Let’s start with not to long ago the Red Sox were going through a nice 8 game winning streak, but since then the team is on a not so nice 1-6 streak, and going the other way in the standings. It’s amazing that you were giving updates on the standings, but that has seemed to stop just like last year you bailed when things started to go bad. Even Tom Caron posted yesterday the Red Sox were starting the week in last place in the Div, and out of the wildcard, and that has gotten worse since last night. Now they are 1.5 games behind in last place in the Div, and the same games back of being in the wildcard. I think also you were touting having the 4th best record overall, and now there are 12 teams ahead of them. I don’t hear all the silly chirping going on either like Mookie who, or I don’t hear any we want DD back, or the Mookie trade looks better now, or if Yoshida/GOshida/NOshida is worth the $100M+. So to sum it all up in the moment, and at the moment the Red Sox are a last place in the Div team, and out of a wildcard spot with a tough road trip looming. Hopefully they can get their winning ways back, but it doesn’t look so good now as it did a week before. Gee if that damm ballgirl hadn’t of touched that ball maybe things wouldn’t have gotten so bad. I’m sure my story won’t jive with yours, but then again it never does.

You do a good job convincing yourself you tell the whole truth.

Tell me what isn’t true in all of this? I’m I call balls, and strikes right down the middle no matter who it benefits. It’s pretty bad that Tom Caron has to do your standing updates for you.

I'm not going to go into all the mistruths you have told for years and then repeated when called out, in the interest of saving the board from our squabbling.

IMO, you are one of the most one-sided posters on this site, and to feign showing all sides of the story and "the whole truth," quite frankly has me in stitches.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with what I posted today, or you would have come out with it. Just living in the moment, which I was told to do. What’s funny is how shallow some are that can only live in the moment when things are going good, but can’t when they are not. Kind of like posting the standings when things are only going good, but don’t worry I’ll pick up the slack even though I don’t care about the scoreboard, or the standings this early in the season, but you said you, and others do, so I want to keep Everyone informed. How about a little Tom Werner chant? Let’s go Red Sox!

No, I'm not taking your bait. Read into that however you wish. But, as always, you are wrong about my reasons for not responding.

Now that Swi is gone and Stork only shows up after a bad stretch, you have become the Master-Baiter.

No baiting involved. It’s just so shallow to be a fan, and can only live in the moment when things are going good. Facts are facts, which are indisputable at the moment that the Red Sox are on a 1-6 stretch, and in last place in the Div, and out of the wildcard. Even Tom Caron knows, and admits that. The JINX may have something to do with that.

I'm glad you have started to admit some things about your shortcomings.

It's the first step to all recovery programs.

Facts are facts, yes, but it's hard to see your "whole truth," when you flip and flop like a fish out of water.

Post #8885 you didn’t finish the whole post did you? It said but you, and others do, so that’s why I would continue the updates to keep everyone informed, which is what you told Dale the other day.

Doesn't change the point I made, at all.

Wait. Did you just accuse someone who spends hours a day on a sports board of being shallow???

Just dno't call it "baiting."

That would not be wholly truthful.

Just living in the moment, and at the moment, which is where this all started. In the moment, and at the moment the Red Sox are a last place in the Div team, and out of the wildcard. Also they on on a 1-6 run. Those are the Cold Hard Facts. Now what you do with those Cold Hard Facts are up to you, and shallow, or not doesn’t change that.

So, when I posted the standing a few days ago that showed us as a WC team, that was not being wholly truthful. Got it.

LMAO

You stopped posing like you did last year, because you are only a front runner, and bailed at the first sign of trouble. I was told to live in the moment when the Sox were on their winning streak, and I thought that’s what we were supposed to do, but I guess it was wrong that it meant to live in the moment only when things were going good. I got it now.

Uh oh...looks like we're back in Rock 'Em Sock 'Em season.

I'll just put the baitor on ignore and spare you all the grief.

Sorry for taking the bait.

The eye test is telling me right now that it's not a very good one.

Meh. "In the moment" is way, way sweeter when your team shows they can win. And the nice thing about MLB--unique of all major professional sports in America--is that winning is anything over freaking .500. Like right now.

But at this specific moment, with the Sox at 22-20, I feel like Denzel Washington in the movie Flight when the elevator assembly jackscrew breaks and they are in an uncontrolled dive. With the Sox that translates to no freaking bullpen and sending Reyes out to pitch the 9th against the Mariners.

As moonslav says, the rotation looks promising. The hitting has been terrific--4th in MLB in runs scored. The defense stinks, but, frankly, the defense is always on the margin. Games are mostly won and lost via pitching and hitting.

But your team is DOA--your elevator assembly jackscrew is broken--if your bullpen stinks like ours does.

You were the one who said to live in the moment, so that’s all I’m doing, but in the moment at the moment is not a very good time. To go from a 8 game winning streak to a 1-6 skid, and go back into last place in the Div, and out of a wildcard is where things are at on this day, and time, and some just don’t want to face those cold hard facts. Maybe we should all get together with Tom Werner, and form a circle, and hold hands and he can lead us in the Lets go Red Sox chant. Maybe everyone would feel better.

I do wonder, just how much our crappy D is responsible for our poor pitching, but my eye test tells me other teams have bad D's, too, at least vs us.

If you're going to fight endlessly with another poster at least make it entertaining. The ongoing feud between you and moon has no juice. It's just two old cranks yelling past each other with nothing of interest to note.

It’s really come down to one poster being optimistic and the other one decrying him for it. Like the Red Sox are reading our posts and concluding “we’re doing ok! Absolutely no need to do anything at all for the rest of the season!!”

This was all about living in the moment that I was doing, but Moon didn’t want to. I don’t look at things as all Red, which works for me just like the eye test that works for me. If I’m watching a Red Sox game, and a Red Sox pitcher, or batter gets a bad call against them then I’ll complain, but if the same thing happens to the opposing team I’ll complain too. Like all the complaints about the ball girl that cost the Red Sox some runs, which she did, but I saw the whole picture that Casas who hit the ball shouldn’t have got up in the first place, because Turner should have been called out on strikes earlier in the inning. I’ll go with the old cranks thing, but if I have to agree with Moon to be right I don’t want to be right.

So of course to you it doesn’t come down to the one poster being realistic, and the one poster who’s being optimistic doesn’t like it, which is the case in this instance, and facts bear that out. Like you are objective in all of this.

It comes down to the fight being long AND boring. A bad combination.
