Joey Gallo is hitting .156 as a Yankee.

Cashman rocks.

He only hit .211 as a Ranger. The real surprise is the .360 SLG.

I mean, Kevin Plawecki is slugging .355 as a member of the Red Sox and Jonathan Arauz is slugging .326. Those are not names that one should be comparing to Gallo…

I know BA has lost a lot of its gravitas, but still, .156 is kind of special.

The only good part about Gallo on the Yankees is being able to reference My Cousin Vinny every time he strikes out.

"I'm Joey Callo. You thought you were trading for Gallo?"

The way the Yankee fans get on him does nothing to help his confidence. When a guy starts pressing, things only get worse.

" Crazy " Joe Gallo got whacked by the mob. This Joey Gallo may get whacked by the bleacher creatures.

Cashman last year had two things he needed to do. Get more left handed and make more contact. Rizzo fit that bill. Gallo only 1/2 of that mandate and actually with how bad his contact rate is, he cancels out any good Rizzo brought. This team can’t hit

.300 batting average is still cool.

This probably won't be how it looks by the end of the season, but 2021 free agent SS acquisitions so far:

Isiah Kiner Falefa ($4.7M 2022 salary): 119 wRC+

Jose Iglesias ($5M): 99 wRC+

Corey Seager ($33M): 88 wRC+

Carlos Correa ($35.1M): 74 wRC+

Trevor Story ($20M): 59 wRC+

This pitching staff has allowed 2.7 runs per game. That includes UER. That is absolutely stellar. The fact that 3 times through and the worst pitcher thus far is Cole is incredible. The pen is dynamite with multiple multi-inning weapons. There's back end arms, front end arms and even arms we could string together and have a pen game using only 3-4 pitchers.

The offense came together today. I still have my doubts about their long term sustainability vs good pitching. They K far too easily, which makes small ball or manufacturing almost impossible. I forsee a need to replace Gallo as the season wears on. He is getting the boo birds and it's almost automatic now when he gets 2 strikes.

I will. I’ll enjoy watching the Sox sink further and further down the standings.

Beware. The Sox have a Secret Weapon.

His name is Aaron Boone…
