Pretty well spread out.

Despite everything, we have more everyday player talent in the system than we have had in quite a few years. And a couple have huge ceilings.

Hang’em Chaim has two types of position players that seem to get his attention:

1.) hit tool players. High contact rates.

2.) big power guys. Low to medium contact rates.

Based on this, Jett Williams should be very appealing to Hang’em Chaim in this upcoming draft!

I knew Mayer would pass Casas.

Glad to see Bello moving up.

Binelas has 10 taters in May; if he stays this consistent through the summer and reaches 30 (combined, at whatever levels), he's Mr. Mojo Rising...

... but the next promotion to the parent club will be a pitcher or pitchers, who won't get rated unless they're gas masters. Same with on base guys like Granberg or Rafaela, who may be better bets to stick in the bigs short-term than all-or-nothing swingers who immediately get listings in the Exploitable Chapter of the MLB Pitchers' Book.

Rafeala and lugo are having fine years.

Blaze Jordan is on fire in may, can he keep it going?

I think Rafaela has a chance to reach the top 100, but Walter might have the best chance of all.

Boston Red Sox injuries: Top prospect Marcelo Mayer has sprained wrist, Triston Casas placed on Worcester’s IL

Mayer has only played in 4 games in the past month due to the wrist issue. Casas has an ankle injury, but could return this weekend.

Seabold has also been shutdown with a pectoral strain.

No. 11

@RedSox

prospect Jay Groome today:

6 IP

Many of our top pitching prospects have really cut down on the BBs. Has the focus changed in our minors?

Our top pitching prospects by rank (OPS Against, K:BB & IP'd)

4. Bello .514, 52:13 in 40 IP

6. Walter .592, 60:3 in 43

German, too.

I think Seabold, Winckowski, Duran and Casas are already "ML Ready." Guys like Fitzy, Refsnyder and maybe a couple other fring players.

Gotta wonder how close these guys are to being promoted:

Woo > Boston

Casas

Duran

Seabold

Winckowski

Bello

German

(Fitzy, Valdez, Refsnyder and others)

POR > Woo

Walter

Murphy

Granberg

(Maybe Koss & Hamilton, later)

Greenville > POR

Binelas

Rafaela

Lugo

Northcut

Jimenez

McDonough

(Maybe Yorke, later on)

Salem > GRE

Gonzalez

Uberstine

Kavadas

Hickey

Mayer

Paulino

Other than promoting a spot starter to open in a double header game, the most likely guy to join Boston by summer if he stays consistent is probably German. A reliever can always get work in a bullpen that needs help, and the Sox will want to keep their starting prospects on regular turns in the minors -- unless someone is so good he can bump a big leaguer to the pen (or if a vet is traded).

Why isn’t Hang’em Chaim investing in pitching early in drafts? There is very little quality starting pitching in Greenville and Salem!

SP is Salem is terrible. Not really sure any arm here will make it out of Greenville!

Wikelman Gonzalez will definitely make it to Portland. Jacob Webb is a maybe.

German more than Casas?

(Also, Winckowski & Seabold can pitch in relief, too, but I do like German, a lot.)

Top #RedSox prospect Brayan Bello becomes first pitcher in International League this season to strike out 10 batters in multiple games

He's only had 2 starts in AAA.

20K and 4 BB in 12 IP at AAA

42 K and 12 BB in 33.2 IP at AA

Short sample size, but it seems he's improving at the higher level.
