If you are always and I do mean always in the middle of the plate where Wisler is tonight, I don't care how much you change speeds you don't stand a chance even in the regular season...never mind the post season. His pitches are always landing in "hit me" land.

Land o' goshen. I think everyone agree JDM would be needed in the ALDS provided his ankle was sort of OK. But I sure never expected that.

Heck, I did not think it was possible for the Sox to score more than 2 or 3 runs off the Rays pitching.

One astounding game, and a stunning response to last night's game.

I didn't see them always in the middle and certainly not against JDM. But that slider was definitely up in the zone.

A MONEY 3 run shot! DAVID ORTIZ worthy.

Need a shutdown inning here.

So far nobody has pitched worth crap except for Houck. The rest have not just been bad but TERRIBLE. If I were Wisler I would be asking myself why everything I throw lands right smack in the middle of the plate.

Going into the postseason I was concerned about our offense. Getting shutout yesterday didn't help. WE ARE BACK BABY!

A lot left in this game.

Houck has essentially pitched a perfect game if you go back his last 9 innings pitched

Great observation. Dilemma, you can't waste that ability as a one inning reliever (you actually could) , but to start he would need to be able to get 5-6 innings... oh wait that is what he does apparently

100 percent. He needs to stay for next year

I am always puzzled at how many people want him to opt out every time his opt out years come around. The guy is an elite hitter for years.

I remember when I talked about how great Houck was. Some “stat” people here thought he wasn’t good enough and that the sample wasn’t either long enough lol

If you watch baseball you don’t need samples and stats to figure out that this kid is great.

That's the first hit Houck has given up in at least four games -- and to the best player in the AL right now. It'll be ok.

And he should be allowed to get the weaker bottom of the order out one more time.

We’re in good shape but this game is far from over. It’s only the fifth but it feels like the 7th for some reason. This one will go down to the wire.

Ok I’ll say it. Hauck has been sensational tonight. Pressure situation and he HANDLED IT. That’s a quality post season reliever. I’m impressed.
