Losing JD definitely hurts. He was swinging the bat good lately. But on the flip side we will have the best possible defense alignment which will help as the defense has cost a lot of problems this year. Kike needs to be at center 100 percent.

You leaned against the cat tree?

Yes it's where I found myself after leaping out of my recliner with my arms raised and walking across the room.

But I'm really a dog guy, getting a new puppy tomorrow. Same as the dog in my avatar, long coat Shepherd

Dodgers down 1-0 after 1 vs Cardinals, Scherzer vs. Wainwright. Both defenses look shaky. Mookie singled but was erased on hard liner dropped by the SS. First four hitters for the Dodgers are Betts, Seager, Turner with wheels, and Turner with beard.

Pitching to the bottom of the St Louis order, Scherzer needs 9 pitches to get a K and 6 to give up a BB. Wainwright now trying to bunt. Scherzer has thrown 35 pitches. Hilarious--Wainwright bunts successfully on the 6th pitch and a 3-2 count.

@BrendanKutyNJ

I watched as Red Sox fans harassed Gerrit Cole, holding up a container of Spider Tack and a Kermit the Frog puppet, and they hurled all kinds of unprintable words at the Yankees ace during his pregame warmup. I recorded it. Here's the video and story:

Yankees/Red Sox rivalry officially over, murdered by a puppet. Sad.

OK. I am generally not bad at following literary allusions. But you got me here!

You have to love these one game play-ins after a win!

It's always a great thing when the Yankees are eliminated. It's 100 times sweeter when it's the Sox that eliminate them.

Woohoo!

Indeed.

Getting past NYY, TBR, HOU & LAD would be sweet.

One game at a time.

Needless to say, today's game is pivotal. The winner of today's game will likely be playing in the ALCS.

You called it too, Kimmi. You said we'd knock them out of the playoffs.

To be honest, I am never extremely confident in predictions when going against the Yankees. LOL

I am not a big believer in home field advantage in baseball, but for this game, I think it was a pretty big factor. The crowd was louder than I can remember hearing it in a very long time. I don't think the Yankees stood much of a chance after the Sox grabbed the early lead.

In the end, it was the lack of hitting depth in the Yankee lineup that did them in.
