Is there a metric that measures that good for the team and good team harmony stuff?

There is: Weigh the leftovers each night from the clubhouse food spread . A harmonious team always has less waste (leftovers) because the guys stay and talk/joke , hang out.

The old Sox mantra of "25 players=25 cabs" means a rotten clubhouse culture and the amount of leftovers would feed the entire farm club system for that team.

So dated. The current phrase is “26 players=26 Ubers”…

Can the 60 days start in March?

Only if the regular season starts in March. Day 1 of the IL is Opening Day.

Thought so. Maybe giving Sale 60 days is worth it, even if he’s ready before

I want to say "ride hard and put back wet" but there's 4 years to go on his contract. Need to baby him.

The fact he isn't already on the 60 day likely means his injury didnt happen in March or late February.

This report from March 16th says 27 day prior, so...

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Red Sox revealed on Wednesday that lefty ace Chris Sale has a stress fracture in his right rib cage that will leave him off the Opening Day roster for the third consecutive season. In fact, it is hard to gauge when Sale will be able

In fact, it is hard to gauge when Sale will be able to return from an injury he sustained 27 days ago while throwing live bating practice at his alma mater of Florida Gulf Coast University, where he had set up a camp for Boston pitchers during the lockout.

I did not see that. Then, yeah, no need to put him on the 60 day. He can start throwing mid april. You probably see him back mid may presuming no recurrence.

Normally an IL started can go back to the player’s last appearance. Not sure about ST IL stints.

Either way he probably needs the full 60 days and might require more. Ribs are notoriously slow healers, what with all that breathing humans do…

Ribs are an issue. I am sure they will MRI him again before letting him throw and ensure the area has no further uptake

IL is only retro for regular season games. ST appearances mean nothing. 60 day DL in Feb/March means missing the first 60 days of the regular season.

Probably ran into that dastardly linebacker Adrian Beltre while at FGCU. One of history's greatest villains.

With Beltre, all you has to do was touch his head…

Not the modifier "old Sox" meaning the 50's-70's

After we get through with the cupcakes to start the year, we run into a ten game meat grinder starting on the 19th.

Could be uglier than a Steinbrenner family reunion!

Our 5 starters will get a day off after their first start- Eovaldi, after his first 2 starts, then it's 18 games in 18 days. Maybe we throw in a pen game or two in that stretch.

Apparently, we are stretching our Whitlock and others for multiple inning roles, so it's doable.

The new DFA list looks harder...

1. Arauz (now that we have Story as the back-up SS)

2. Plawecki (if we deem Wong or R Hernandez ready for the bigs)

3. Davis (out of options)

4. Bazardo or Tyler

Plawecki I don’t think is on any list.

Think Strahm is that high on the list just weeks after signing an MLB deal for $3mill?
