The number of times we get opportunities out of nuthin' and then convert them to nuthin' is wearing out my liquor cabinet.

Time to applaud, I guess. Sox got 2 on (2d and 3d, actually) with one out and not everyone K'd. JDM did, but at least Bogie flied out.

A reversal of JDM and Bogey in the sequence would have produced a run . JD's pitch appeared inside and I would trust his hitting "eyes" except for the tendency to chase that low outside slider in many other cases.

Tigers have made some good plays in the field. The Sox, except for Valdez, have not. Especially egregious was Verdugo's lazy played that let a runner go from 1st to 3d on a clean single straight to Verdugo in LF.

Valdez is also pitching with a lot of heart, which seems to be lacking in his teammates.

eck "it seems like every time Dalbec contributes....WE WIN". Really eck. So Bobby contributed in all those wins that we have? Seems like he would be higher in the batting order if that were the case.

I wish eck would watch the game more. He might have some idea what the heck is going on in the actual game being played.

It seems like every time Dalbec contributes we win IS NOT THE SAME AS every time we win Dalbec conributes.....

There are times when just a single can make a difference . Our best hitters have had that chance time and again over the past week but are in a synchronized slump.

Looks that way to me as well. Kike, Raffie, and JDM all faced Skubal for the 3d time, and couldn't get a hit among them. Kike did move Marwin from 1st to 2d.

Maybe the hit song of the musical Damn Yankees is, "You Gotta Have Heart." The only Sox player in today's game with any heart, so far, was Valdez.

Was Heart available at the deadline , was Bloom interested , what did he get instead ???

Where did the Sox get this guy from? He throws 90% fastballs and is getting pounded. Robles, a name to remember. Kind of makes Perez look OK.

This game truly is over.

I saw a lot of Robles when he was with the Mets. This is not unusual. Red Sox fans will learn to love him like Mets fans love him. Edited by a700hitter

He should have been pushed in the oven, not the witch?

Heart was a regular on this team for big chunks of this season and might return with Sale.

Offense has definitely been inconsistent

they have looked consistently bad. At least we can't blame Duran for what is happening today.

That looked like a gimpy wrist fly out by X that time. Looked like his wrist broke down just from the contact and the ball just floated out to RF.

Last night the WEEI guys were saying that poor starting pitching does have an effect on the lineup. They are guessing, of course, but it sure seems as though there is some kernel of truth in the idea.

Losing a series to the Tigers headed into a four game series with the Jays finally playing in front of their fans. YUK!!!!

Nope we can’t. Team almost looks like they are giving up.
