You wouldn’t need that. You would have been winning entering the 8th.

Said that we somehow won this one and is all that matters.

No, no, no. Duran does not score in 7th if he pinch runs for Dalbec. The Yankees SS caught the freaking grounder and would have thrown Duran--trying to score from 2b on a grounder--out with ease.

Much better was what Cora did in the 7th--not sending Duran in--and in the 9th--sending Duran in to score the crucial tying run.

Just because Duran probably would have scored does not mean Cora made a mistake. And, we don't know he scores.

This is called hindsight judging.

Cora did a great job tonight. If you wanna scream at someone, scream at Dalbec- the guy who made up for his mistake.

And Green to close is exactly why Boone should be fired

Chapman wasn't available; who else did Boone have? But personally, a game this important, Boone probably should have made Chapman available.

Welcome to the club. Everyone--almost everyone--on talksox was ready to fire Cora before the Sox tied it in the 9th.

And exactly where were you when Cora sent Andriese out to close in the 12th with a 2 run lead, which was not enough to prevent him from a blown save and a loss?

Not Dalbec's mistake, but the third base coach's. And no way does Duran score from 2b on a grounder the SS caught.

It's not Cora's fault Bobby Dee does not go to 3B.

The 7th inning batter often gets up again, especially on a good offensive team know for comebacks.

I don’t think you guys are getting the point.

If Cora PH Duran, he would have scored in the 7th and the game would have been 2-1 at that point with still 2 outs, with RISP, and with the momentum in effect.

Yes, Max. My bad. 3B coach not Cora. Not Dalbec.

It's tough to manage in this era of baseball. Not only does a manager have to manage, he also has to be a babysitter.

You lost me.

You mean PR not PH?

Even if you did, there are no guarantees.

Armchair managing is a breeze.

Relax. Lol! I don’t want to scream to nobody. This was a great night.

He scores and easily after that hit moon. Easy.

To me, the biggest mistake, besides waiving in Dalbec, was Dalbec not tagging up and going to 3B on the sac fly play to the plate.

Duran does not score from 2B on that IF hit.

My point though, is that even if he would, it does not mean it's a mistake by Cora.

The game is not over in the 7th.

Dalbec got a key hit in the 9th. Maybe Duran hits into a DP.

That’s why iortiz is so great! Cora certainly never saw the value of sending Duran in to pinch hit and then to pinch run in the 7th. Genius—and never tried before.

C'mon, Moon. You've followed baseball a long time, same as me. The players are pampered more now than they've ever been.

Not sure what that means.

The armchair managers are pampered, too.

Baseless and often misdirected bashing is constant and often absurd.

So, is it the pampered players deserve being bashed?

What am I missing?

I think he does Max. Tomo I will watch the play again though.

Give it a shot by all means. I envy your access to replay

What I was referring to was that the Yankems with a game this important, Boone should have had Chapman closing(glad he didn't). I'm pretty sure in Billy Martin's time as Yankem manager he would have had Gossage in the 9th, even if it was his 3rd game in a row.

Duran flies. Dalbec Moves like he is carrying a refrigerator. Duran definitely scores on the ball Devers hit in the 7th.

Thankfully Dalbec vindicated the decision to leave him in the game with that hit in the 9th.

No, it's not ok. We still need to complain about Cora for some reason!
