Very discouraging that Casshman said the 3 positive tests were from vaccinated players, and he expects 3 more. I don't wish the illness on any of them and the cancellations will back up the scheduling with a bunch of 7 inning DH's later, stressing the pitching further.

Encouraging though is that vaccinated people may have exposure and carry the virus but don't get noticeably sick. f***ing Chinese viral manipulators funded by f***ing Fauci's NIH.

I believe this is why most folks think of Trump supporters the way they do.

So if you can still get COVID even if you have the vaccine, then that means you can also spread it even though you're vaccinated. If you're vaccinated then it probably won't have much of an effect on you if someone spreads it to you, but if you spread it to non-vaccinated people then they can get sick. So where does this leave us? Who TF knows.

Thing is that plenty of new variants are already out there and some vaccines do not work well against some.

I have read as well that not only new variants but new strains of COVID are out there which is more worrying because the actual vaccines protect you only against COVID19 virus strain.

This problem is far from over.

A scary place.

Welcome to the world of the delta variant. 99.5% of those dying are unvaccinated but most recent data shows maybe a 65% prevention rate of the delta variant with Pfizer or Moderna. Likely far less with J and J as that one had a lower efficacy to begin with. This means vaccines have relegated this to a cold or flu at worst, but with strict testing protocols, they’re gonna catch every breakthrough case Edited by jacksonianmarch

Maybe Cashman and Bloom created this as a ploy to delay their firings by a few days.

I heard something like this on Breitbart.

You golf at night?

Those two circumstances are not mutually exclusive. I don't golf every day it's sunny. Sunday was a beautiful day in the afternoon, but it started raining when I got back from Fenway. It's just so happened that the last few times I was planning to golf, it was raining. Or the course was flooded.

I also like doing other things with my times, like running and going to the gym. Golf is a pretty expensive hobby for a 22 year old just starting out in a city known for a high cost of living.

It’s the same as flu simple put. Yes you can still be a carrier and spread it but the point of the vaccine is so you don’t get it. Is it guaranteed l? NO!!!!!

Guess what, no shot is. I got the flu shot last year and a month later got the worst stomach flu of my life (was not food poisoning because I ate the same lunch as my co workers and same supper as my son and spouse and parents) it was terrible. I puked and had diarrhea all night. Man oh man, I nearly wanted to die.

Covid is no different. It greatly reduces your chances of getting Covid but it’s not 100 percent. In my home province of Saskatchewan Canada since nearly everyone has been double vaccinated, cases have literally gone from the 100s to 20s. The morons that don’t want to get vaccinated, that is totally fine. We have free health care in Canada, but wish we didn’t provide it to the morons that didn’t get vaccinated.

You didn’t have flu. You had gastroenteritis. Different viruses. “Stomach flu” isn’t influenza, it’s usually enterovirus or norovirus

The covid vaccine was highly effective at preventing most variants except this one. This is the first one with a big drop in prevention but maintained protection from critical illness.

I believe that comment would be better directed at the paranoid racist who prompted it.

MVP already addressed “the paranoid racist” comment by making a very similar post to him as he did to you. Vegasbob’s post was fine up until the last sentence. Your’s had no such virtue.

Keep politics off of here. All politics. Did we learn nothing from last summer’s fiascos that had to be locked?

IDK. I'm planning on getting Taco Bell for lunch. If it comes out too quickly, I'm also going to blame that damned COVID!

Yes, that was my point. This isn't a place for political rants about COVID. We couldn't be adults last year, so we shouldn't start up again this year.

Didn't see mvp's original response. Sorry. I didn't take the time to scroll through the entire discussion. My response to racists and their spew is generally not "Gee, I wonder if anyone has objected to this already."

Somewhere I read the J&J has the best results vs Delta.

I think yessir opened a thread for those purposes but I'm not sure.

It was closed last year by mods when people couldn't control themselves.

Let's get back to the real discussion, how the Yankees will re-take the division over the next two months.

You will need a miracle my friend. I do not see that happening. This is not your year IMO.

#RedSox and #Yankees prepare to play on Friday, after postponing Thursday due to covid cases in NYY.

I think I read that Judge and other 6 players were involved in this case. Wonder what did they do to give them green light and resume activities so fast.

I remember some cases where games were cancelled due COVID, and it took several days to resume activities.

3 positives and 3 quick test positives that they were waiting on results from. No clue about symptoms or anything else. It'll be interesting to see who is on the active Yankees roster today.

ESPN reporting that the game will be played, although all the yankees who tested positive were confirmed positive. Anyone hearing or have access to anything different? (Damn last night was hard--no baseball, no NHL, no NBA, no tennis, ... Thank God for sleep aids.)

Looks like Judge , Urshela and Loaisiga are out for sure. When you're hot , you're hot. When you're not , you're not. The Yanks are the latter.
