Casas drops bombs that’s all I got

Like when? When he takes a dump?

It's not HRs...

HRs, this year:

Casas 6

Dalbec 11

Cordero 7

Yeah, he's been very pedestrian all year in Portland. Only 6 HR's in AA as a bat first first baseman but let's promote him all the way to Boston based on a game you saw or read about.

This has to be a joke.

I thought cassas started out the year hitting just fine. Then he went to the Olympic qualifier, where he still looked good. After he got back from that, however, his swing and timing were all messed up and stayed that way until he went back at the Olympics.

The question is which cassas ends the year at Portland?

I expect him to get a cameo with the ml team in Sept. unless the team is still in the pennant race.

Casas 2021: 777 OPS in AA

May: 952

June: 577

July: 829

Devers had a 944 OPS when he was promoted to AAA.

Benintendi had a 872 OPS when promoted from AA to MLB.

Mookie had a 994 OPS when he was promoted to AAA.

Casas just is a step below the above guys right now.

It never hurts..

I was just assuming that due to the nature of this thread and you posting about farts, that there didn't need to be a point?

Somewhere in Carolina: B. Swiman sits on the dock, lazily fishing. Along comes Caleb. Caleb: " Hey Swi." Swi: " Hey Caleb." Caleb: "Hey Swi , how they bitin '? ". Swi: " Hey Caleb, Gettin ' a few . Not too many today. Gonna head on home." Caleb: " Okay, Swi. Catch you later."

While I love facts they are not necessary in this thread nor reciprocated.Thankyou for the effort it’s dually noted somewhat .I already know of my brilliance in this thread too much shine takes away from its subtle nature .

Actually given the thread title, you’re correct. Points are clearly irrelevant. Good point.

Of course, now you’ve actually made a good point on a ghost thread, which is certainly something that should never be. Stop that!

When you look at our year to date, offense from our first base position stands out as some of the worse in the ML. We stuck with Dalbec for much of the season but have also used Gonzalez, Cordero, Santana, Chavis and of course Arroyo in a futile attempt to improve. Using Arroyo wound up costing us his availability. Did I miss anyone we tried? At the trade deadline we did nothing to help ourselves at 1st for the immediate future and took a flyer on Schwaber being able to handle that position when he is healthy enough to be used.. My guess is they will use Schwaber to rest players n LF and DH so the 1st base experiment will be less than FT.

If people talk about Casas, it is only because of the futility experienced with the existing approach. Rookies go through learning curves so it is only through rose colored glasses one could see him as a major contributor this season. I expect he will be brought up when the roster can expand in Sept. He won't return from Japan until the 8th or 9th of August.

Schwarber will play 1B nearly FT. Only when JD needs a rest will he start anywhere else.

Duran will be the 4th OF'er as Kike plays CF FT, once Arroyo returns and gets back into the groove.

If Arroyo takes a long time to return to FT status, then Schwarber will play some LF as Kike is needed at 2B.

I just hope we don't start seeing Marwin start half the time, again.

(Just my opinions.)

Casas won't even be called up this September. Teams no longer have unlimited call-ups.

... Of course. If devoted fans -- and that's who were are, not professional media or team employees -- debate trying a guy currently crushing it in international tournament competition (even if it's at a Double A level), it's not fair to mock each other. Not when the alternatives have all been abject failures, and in many cases, have never proven to be big league hitters beyond the dreaded SSS.

It's not like anyone is saying Casas should replace a slumping Jon Schoop, CJ Cron, RIZZO or even Moreland.

I’ll settle on Bob being demoted to high A ball

High A really? so, demoted down not 1 but 3 levels????? Why?
