The big surprise is that the Giants are right in there too.

San Fran leads the majors in fewest runs allowed. San Diego is #3 and the Dodgers are #4.

The Giants are currently leading the division by 1/2 game over the Dodgers and the Padres. Good stuff.

Last night's Dodgers/Brewers game was really good. Tough loss for the Dodgers in 11 innings.

Every team in the NL East is under .500, and the division is separated by 1.5 games.

Go baseball!

JBJ has 30 strikeouts and 2 walks. Yikes.

Ouch.

He came up last night with bases loaded and 0 outs. He struck out.

Chicago’s Javier Baez has 38 K’s and 1 BB. Not a great way to start your option year.

Holy crap. We are seeing some unprecedented bad numbers for hitters this year.

No wonder Manfred is flipping out a bit.

Who would ever think bringing back 1968 is a good idea?

Bring back last year’s ball.

The bullpens. Even the lousy teams have a steady parade of guys coming out of the pen throwing gas for an inning.

So many "experts" wrote in the Dodgers and Yankees as the teams that would meet in the World Series. Yankees seem to be turning the corner now, but they still do have glaring weaknesses. Meanwhile, the Dodgers have fallen off a cliff. 4-12 in their last 16. Kershaw got roughed up yesterday in Game 1, and Bauer didn't have his best stuff in Game 2.

Beauty of the 162 game baseball season. Those two teams are still two of the best teams in the league IMO, but even the best teams go through a couple of funks during the season

Zack Godley DFA'd by Brewers.

Deven Marrero signed a minor league deal with the Marlins.

Luke Voit to be activated, tomorrow.

Corey Seager has a fractured hand. Horrible. An injury like that is career-threatening.

Dodgers are getting killed by the injury bug right now.

Yes indeed. Sad to see my guy Pollock go down. His career has been ruined by injuries. Could have been a perennial all-star. He was in 2016, the only year he was fully healthy

How about this for a blast from the past? Scott Kazmir is starting tonight for the Giants against the Dodgers. Hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016 with the Dodgers. The 2008 ALCS is the first prominent series I can vividly remember (I turned 10 during that series), so Kazmir will always be burned into my memory

It's hard to have a more embarrassing loss than the Jays had against the Rays today. Ahead 4-3 with 2 on and 2 out in the 9th, Jays relievers incredibly walked 4 in a row for a 6-4 loss.

That is pretty terrible. Annoying Rays are annoying.

Toronto needs a good closer if they want to hang in there all season. Right now , that looks to be their biggest problem.

The Rays are a biblical pestilence.

6 out of their top 11 PA players are under .675.

3 of their 6 SPers with 5 or more starts have ERAs over 4.00.

Somehow, it never matters.

Luck & momentum

It’s not luck.

They’ve done this for years.

It’s hard to call a 12 year run momentum, either.

I’m not saying I have a better reason.

I was just talking specifically about this season
