I thought you said these games were meaningless. ????

The games themselves are meaningless. Getting a chance to see some of the guys we haven't seen before has a little value.

I thought it was pretty clear I was comparing EHern to the Holt we saw with the Sox, not the much older one.

I try to spell things out more clearly going forward.

Oh, I was comparing their current cost. Holt is 32,

and probably has some baseball life left. I’d rather have spent the additional $12 million elsewhere, especially since they ended up signing another utility guy in Marion Gonzalez.

@BillKoch25

Cora said Bryan Mata is experiencing soreness in his right triceps. He was scratched from relief work in today's game. #RedSox

@SPChrisHatfield

Re: Bryan Mata triceps issue, he's had something of an issue staying healthy. 2018 season ended in July due to a back injury. 2019 missed a month with shoulder soreness. Last year at alt site missed last couple starts with hamstring injury.

Most IP in a season is 105 in 2019.

Upper Deck Dalbec.

He hit another one to RCF that went even further. The two gifs are almost identical except that there were different pitchers.

Maybe Bobby Dalbec is Adam Dunn instead of Joey Gallo.

Yes. Dunn's career OBP was .364. He was under-rated due to the high K rate.

(His D did not help, but Dalbec is not bad on D.)

Dunn was my favorite non-Sox player when he was around.

While he led the league in K's 4 times, he also led the league in walks twice and had over 100 BBs 8 times in his career. (He only qualified in PAs, eleven years.)

He had a .385 OBP from 2004 to 2009. If Dalbec can do anywhere near this... POW!

Even at the end of his career, he managed a decent .329 OBP from 2010-2014.

This kid is for real.

Forget the K's. His OBP cancels that out, and his HRs make him a big plus.

ROY, baby!

(Sarcasm alert, perhaps.)

His MiLB OBP was very good but so far he does have to make it translate to MLB. MiLB pitchers in many cases simply do not throw as many strikes as MLB pitchers, or do not throw them as hard. Basically, they are usually worse pitchers that it is easier to draw walks off of. For a lot of them, there is a reason they are in the minors and in many cases, will never leave the minors.

So far, Dalbec has only 92 MLB PA. Too soon to judge either way...

One of my favorite Adam Dunn legends is that he hit a home run into Kentucky off of Jose Lima. Opinions seem to dispute whether or not he actually homered into another state, but that he hit one close enough for the argument is the stuff of legends...

Of course, but it's still a nice sign.

I doubt he's the next Cecchini, although Garin never had power.

Good news today: Duran is hot and showing some tater power this spring! Feltman looks really good when he has his control.

Bad news today: houck with 5 walks!

Ward has a cool first name.

Thaddeus feels like one of those names parents give to their 12th child when they are dedicated to making sure all the siblings have the same initials...

It feels weird not being able to follow these games on Gameday.

Yeah, I don't like it. Gameday used to have ST games, right?

For a number of years now. I assume this is just another COVID issue.

I'd rather have Gameday up on my second screen than MLB.tv.

I hope I end up being wrong about Chavis- the guy I traded most on the BTV site.

I have said he deserves a long look, this year, and I think that even more after this start to ST'ing.
