Kluber is better than Pivetta mostly because both are performing well and Kluber has done it before at a tremendously higher level. With a guy like Pivetta, who may be flashing in the pan or breaking out, you always wonder if the bottom will drop out. With Kluber, the concern is will his arm hold together. We shall see. Kluber is writing off the shoulder, but as I have said before, unless his velo returns and his MRI is clean, I am skeptical

Good to see you entertaining the idea that 2021 might not be just luck for Pivetta, and maybe it is a "break out year."

And Voit back on the IL. Both he and Kluber look to miss at least a month. Guess the trainers that got fired last season were just scapegoats. Health is a skill, and a lot of these guys just don't have it.

I’d assume Deivi will come up and Sevy in the wings, but Deivi has been hit or miss in AAA thus far.

Voit never looked right. Makes me wonder if he was hurting before he pulled it good

Given the slow start, do you think the Yanks rushed him back at all? Seems to me like he was never 100% to begin with

Seems like the time bomb just exploded. As I said it was a matter of time, but was too early though.

For the record.

I wasn’t disputing who was a better pitcher o who has better stuff. Disputing that would be dumb.

I was disputing the “pick up” considering their actual profile moving forward. In that regard, 1 month ago when both were healthy, I thought (still thinking) choosing Pivetta is a no-brainer for me.

Pivetta —the way I see it— will be a better pick up for the Sox. It’s very likely Pivetta eats way more innings at a very competitive level —4.0 ERA. Not to mention his cost, control, and specially his upside.

That would be an unfair one, reason why I didn’t do it LOL!

Richards was a real good pitcher who has been out with injuries.

Kluber was an excellent pitcher out with an injury.

Both signed for about $10M.

It’s a better comp than Pivetta who has never had a real good season or been out with a major injury.

Oh yeah but at the time I think Pivetta and Kluber pitched the same day or something, reason why I made the comp I guess.

The important thing is that even the Pivetta pick up will work bette for us.

I wonder if he strained it early on and hid it or tried to manage it rather than let it heal. Luke takes vicious cuts and pulls the ball hard. When he came back, he was more of an oppo singles hitter than a reigning HR champ

Wonder when was the last time NY assembled a relatively healthy roster.

This is one of the big reasons they haven’t won anything in a decade.

Voit is another of those muscular guys that Cash seems to love and that has a lot of trouble staying on the field.

That has to be part of the problem with Yankees.

The worst part is that Cashman seems to ignore the reasons behind many of the injuries.

It's not bad luck.

When was the last year the Yanks had just a normal amount of injuries to key players, let alone less than the norm?

Can’t remember, but as I said it certainly has been their major problem.

Jays are already winning 2-0 btw

Lately if Judge isn't hitting then the offense ain't scoring. 5 guys in the lineup right now hitting under .200

Sanchez, Hicks, Voit also under .200.

Never thought I'd see a Yankees offense like this one.

- Gardner looks cooked

- Frazier has one good game a week that makes you think he's coming around, then starts a new 0 for streak

- Ford should be in the minors

- Odor has had a few clutch hits but otherwise is a defense only player

- Sanchez/Higgy look to be .200 hitters who will occasionally crush a mistake

- DJ looks nothing like his last two seasons. Less contact, less power, more bad ABs

Who in the lineup is actually hitting? Judge still looks good. Torres is coming around a bit. Gio has been solid. And Andujar has looked ok but is just slapping around singles. Even if Stanton comes back it's hard to see him having a large impact when so much of the lineup is a dead zone. Not really anyone in the minors who can provide a spark either. Maybe Gittens at first? Can't be worse than Ford. And I guess Florial can't be worse than Gardner.
