Tampa is even hotter right now. The 3 best teams in the AL are probably all in the East. Although I can accept arguments Oakland belongs on that short list...

Yeah, it's quite possible we're chasing a second wild card spot. Which I would take.

Lol were you only watching the White Sox bat? Ump was calling strikes on pitches 6 inches off the plate for both sides. So yes inconsistent, but not one sided.

You're starting to sound a little concerned though. Do the White Sox suck now since the Yanks are beating them up?

Nah it was sided specially in the 4th where the ump killed Cease, then it was pretty easy for NYY and the rest is history.

Said that you were very lucky in this series. You turned a lot of ridiculous DP and even a TP when the WS had everything to take the lead with zero outs in several situations. Let's see if your luck continuous moving forward.

The 3 best records are in the ALE.

The 3 best NL records are in the NL West.

Has that ever happened?

The Yankees lead the league in GIDPs this season. So who is unlucky? And the half inning before the triple play the Yankees had two men on and one out, and Voit hit a 107MPH rocket right at the third baseman for a double play. Does that not count as unlucky? You choose to see what you want to see.

My point is that some key DPs and specially that TP won't happen again 99/100 of the times, plus bad calling game by the umps in key situations taxed the WS way more.

s*** happens, this time for the WS, who had a lot of opportunities to put the series in a different situation.

Again... let's see if this continuous.

Sure we'll see.

Also for anyone who thinks a game is umped unfairly, this independent twitter account grades the umpire's accuracy for every MLB game:

They have not released yesterday's game ratings yet but here are the first two:

You are just mad that we caught your team in the L column. Looking forward to surpassing your boys soon

Last 10:

10-0 TBR

8-2 NYY

7-3 BOS

It's not like the Sox are choking.

I don't think anyone has said such. All 3 teams are playing good ball right now, and whoever can sustain it the longest will be the one to pull away. Of course my money is on the Yankees being that team, but things can change quickly. We shall see.

Yes, I know nobody said we were choking, but right now the Yanks and Rays are red hot.

It may not last much longer.

The start of June has the Yanks playing TBR & BOS, the Sox playing at HOU and then NYY.

Well I've been hearing that since Sox are there and haven't happened. Good luck with that.

Kluber described his shoulder as feeling “fatigued” rather than tight. Doesn’t change anything for me. The MRI needs to be clean and his velo needs to be where it was during the no no for me to be appeased.

I would agree with that if he went above a usual workload. He only threw 101 pitches. That is a usual workload.

It's been said that some pitches are more high-stress than others.

In any case, Boone is clearly not at fault.

It does need to be pointed out that he only pitched 101 pitches that night. He had 103 a few games earlier and 101 a couple starts earlier.

Maybe he should have been limited to 80-85 pitches for a couple months. Hard to know.

Sale's 300 K's night comes to mind.

Nobody can ever convince me that playing Cal Ripken every game helped the team or him be better.

Pivetta >> Kluber.

Kluber unfortunately for NY at this point is nothing but a prone-injury old horse. He is 35 yo and counting.

On the other hand, Pivetta is 7 years younger and on the cheap with a lot of upside.

Bloom will eat Cashman’s lunch on this one.

"Heyman says the Yankees are optimistic about the possible results, as Kluber "only" reported tightness in his right shoulder"

Told ya. Have to wait the results but as I said old horses like Kluber are time bombs waiting to explode at some point, unfortunately.

If Kluber is oks, they have to minimize his load to 80-pitches max/5-innings. Throwing 100 pitches per game will make the time bomb explode earlier.

Said that, hopefully he is oks though.

Kluber is better than Pivetta mostly because both are performing well and Kluber has done it before at a tremendously higher level. With a guy like Pivetta, who may be flashing in the pan or breaking out, you always wonder if the bottom will drop out. With Kluber, the concern is will his arm hold together. We shall see. Kluber is writing off the shoulder, but as I have said before, unless his velo returns and his MRI is clean, I am skeptical
