Jay Bruce sucks. Problem is, so does everyone else right now. The bats will hit, not worried about that, but the roster construction ha it’s warts. We are all or nothing and that’s a problem come the fall

Torres at shortstop is pure stupidity by Cashman. The man has issues with team construction.

They stomached Jeter at SS for 2 decades. I guess they just don't value SS defense.

You bragged about the amazing depth on the Yankee roster and ended up getting this scrub to play a key role.

What happened?

Bruce can't hit any more, and he's not an asset in the field. Saw some Yankee fans grumbling that he should have had the bad throw by Torres.

Good old Cash.

The bats finally came to life, but the pitching was most impressive again. 9 innings of shutout ball. Monty dominated. That’s how you beat the Orioles

Against the AA lineup?

In his mind, the Yankees have already won the 2021 AL pennant. The book that is his mind starts with the conclusion and then talks about how we got there.

The Yanks will probably win the division.

It will make it all that much sweeter when we take them down in the playoffs.

12 men LOB to 5, but the Yanks did get three hits (3-14) with RISP, while the O's got just one (1-6)

This is a great example of the randomness of baseball.

We do have depth. Bruce is depth and he’s underperforming. If he continues to suck, we bring up Ford. If that doesn’t work, we start Odor and move Lemahieu to 1b. We’ve got the depth, we just haven’t used it 6 games in

Odor has a net fWAR and bWAR of 1.0 over the last 4 seasons. Not sure what Cash is thinking, really.

You were pumping up your depth before you added Bruce and Odor. Why add these clowns, if your depth was so good, or at least why was Bruce the first guys you went with?

If the Sox added a guy with a .731 OPS and a minus dWAR since 2018, and we were saying he's great depth, you'd be laughing at us.

Is this the same Rays team that just got their asses handed to them in Boston?

Is that the same Boston team that was swept at home by the Orioles? It can be spun any way.

That was my point. If they can get swept by a Sox team that looked like s*** against the Orioles, then that looks even worse on the Yankees

The Yankees were favored to win the division and perhaps run away with it. Right now they look like a team with a lot of issues. It's early, of course.

Yes, but I'm loving seeing Brice batting 5th. Gabby Sanchez has been their best hitter.

Of course, when players come back from injuries...

Yes he did. If he continues like this, Garcia will come up and then Sevy will take the spot. He’s rusty. Stuff still plays, but he needs command to be effective and he had none of it today

Why not tell us about his loss of 3-4 mph on his velocity?

It’s a little early to make judgements. My bet is the velo ticks up as the season goes on, but definitely a concern with him sitting right below 90. I didn’t get to watch today’s game. But I did watch the last one. The movement on his pitches is pretty sick. But if he cannot control it, he will struggle.
