From soxprospects.com...

Of the five players received in the Andrew Benintendi trade, Luis De La Rosa has received perhaps the least attention, but it might be time to start giving the guy some attention. For the month of August, he had a 1.29 ERA and 0.79 WHIP over 14 innings. He also had 12 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .149 OBA. The 19-year-old righty's arsenal includes four pitches (fastball, curveball, changeup, slider). He's shown good control and a strong feel for his secondary pitches, although he could stand to add some velocity to his fastball which currently tops out in the low 90s.

@IanCundall

Since his promotion to @GreenvilleDrive, Nick Yorke is hitting .375/.453/.607 in 64 PA. For the year, he is hitting .331/.420/.517 with 13 HR, 35 XBH, 49 BB:61 K

Yorke OPSing 1060 in high A like it's nothing. Does he start there next season or do they push him to AA?

My money is on him starting in Greenville but being on the first bus to Portland. He will not spend more than 2 months in Greenville In 2022 if that.

We are seeing some amazing stuff from some of our better prospects over the past few weeks.

I'm wondering what some winter rankings will show.

Posted

We have four players currently in the top 100.

Eventually Duran will graduate!

Yorke, cassas and Mayer are high quality players.

Our second tier prospects, seabold, groome, Crawford, feltman and Crawford have developed tons Pinot where they could potentially help the major league team next season.

Plus we have some youngsters that could develop into top tier prospects like lugo, downs, winkelman and bello.

It is nice to have 3 guys like Whitlock, Houck and Duran already in the bigs, and guys like Verdugo & Devers just barely older than them. Then, there is Dalbec.

Even with none of these guys counting as prospects, we still have a very nice farm:

Mayer, Casas, Yorke

Bello, Seabold, Groome

Jordan, Jimenez, Bonachi, W Gonzalez

Downs, Mata, Murphy, Song

Winckoski, Wong, Ward, Walter

Bleis, Lugo, McDonough, Hickey, Santos

Ronaldo Hernandez OPS by month:

MAY 729

JUNE 543

JULY 982

soxprospects.com really dinged him in their last rankings. Maybe they move him up for their end of season rankings. Some others should jump up, too.

Maybe we see this: (Duran graduates)

1. Mayer (up from 2)

2. Casas (from 1)

3. Yorke (8)

4. Bello (7)

5. Seabold (9)

6. Groome (10)

I agree with the top 4. After that, the players are kind of bunched together and almost any order from 5-12 would make sense.

I don't think Mayer passes Casas. He's still #1 in my mind and knowing how the soxprospects guys rank players I'd guess they will keep him there too.

@SPChrisHatfield

Nick Yorke has reached base in 65 of his last 66 games. .385/.445/.708 with 14 HR over 311 PA in that time split between Low-A and High-A.

Easily the Offensive POTY in the system this year. It's not really close.

I doubt they flip him based on just a handful or games for Mayer, but this is my list.

If Mayer passed Casas, then Yorke passed both of them. Casas is a beast, very age advanced, and has been hot lately, yes he's a 1B profile but to me being much closer to the majors bridges and exceeds that gap in prospect value right now.

I could see Mayer becoming the #1 prospect in baseball, I think his ceiling is that exciting, but I suspect Casas will have graduated by then. Maybe.

Ok I read that wrong, I thought you were saying that's what the rankings would or could look like at the end of the year.

That is what my post implied. I should have worded it differently.
