Shouldn’t we be excited about the potential starting rotation next season? Assuming ERod comes back healthy along with sale.

Yes. But some people are negative on this site and think we need to do a full rebuild. It’s f***ing stupid the way some think. We are top 5 in hitting, and next year

E Rod

sale

Eovaldi

Perez That’s a good looking rotation.

I’m glad some of us on here aren’t managers. We would be a basement team for the next decade.

And our young stud. Very impressed with this kid.

Yes sir. He is going to have a great future. Three very impressive starts. This this team will be competitive very soon. If we didn’t have one of the worst pitching starts in Red Sox history, we make playoffs this year. Think we were 2nd last in pitching. Look what happens when the pitching gets their s*** together. We start winning games.

If the Red Sox start any of their best players tomorrow, Roenicke should be fired. Lose the game. Get the #3 overall pick.

Ya I can’t see us starting very many guys. I would be very surprised actually, but you never know.

If someone on here cheered for the yankees, I would send them help lmao. Jays, I have a soft spot for however. It would be neat to see an under dog do good. I would also be ok with Oakland making a run.

Well since you are Canadian, I suppose I can excuse the soft spot for the Jays. ;)

If you can get a good one cheap , that is wonderful. That also applies to every other position in baseball . As well as many things in life . But , like closing , it's not easy to do.

My point was that one should never spend a fortune on a closer.

I don't like spending big money on any players, but IMO, resources should be prioritized for starting pitching and position players. Bullpens should be put together cheaply. I am not saying that good bullpens are not vital to the team and 'cheaply' does not mean mediocrely.

The offseason plan should never involve acquiring an expensive stud closer, especially as the first order of business.

Houck has been very impressive. Good for him. He will have a lot of confidence going into the postseason.

It's still a very small sample size, so we have to temper our enthusiasm, but he has made is it difficult not to be excited about him for next year.

I’ll never understand people that always go for a full rebuild. This team has so much talent it’s not even funny. Zero chance we need a full rebuild. Offensively we are still a competitive team. Need a closer, a starter and some help in the bullpen though for sure. But doesn’t count as a full rebuild.

He was fired tis morning.

And how draft picks are working next year is not clear at this point. It may not be strictly off this years record; it may involve a combination of 2019 and 2020.

Check that, Roenicke is now out. Time for Cora to come back home!

Even if we win, worst case is the 5th pick!

Houck is excelling because of his slider. Lots of movement. It is making hitters uncomfortable!

His delivery is also making it tough for the hitters to pick up the ball.

The key to houck is if he can get hitters out the second or third game they get to see him! Once the hitters learn to pick up the ball from his delivery, because he only has two pitches, it could get tough for him!

He has 3 pitches now. He’s thrown a splitter all year.

That's not a bad combo for a high draft pick. Wasn't Cora manager in 2019 ?

Glad to see JBJr put together a good season, no matter how short. Certainly posted his best shot at drawing FA interest. Just not sure if he'll draw the interest he may feel is due. 2021 is still not any guarantee as a normal 162 game season. Good luck to him, and it would not be a shock to see him in Boston on a 2 year deal.

Re-sign JBJ

Or offer Pablo Sandoval about $60 million for 3 years and try agai n with the Weightwatchers program. Why would the Braves bother humoring that phat phuque?
