If Houston keeps this lead, they’ll become only the second team ever to fall behind 3 games to none and then force a game 7.

So naturally, no team has ever gone up 3 games to none and won game 7...

It’s only happened once in baseball and we know who came back lol. Unreal if tampa bay blows this. I want the yankees to be the only team in baseball known for that.☹️

If we have a game 7 they will start to press in that game with each passing inning knowing they could blow a 3-0 series lead. I never thought we could see that again in baseball and here we are almost close to it again.

The Rays were already pressing in Games 5 and 6, IMO. I didn't think it would be possible for the Astros to come back, but now, I have to give them the edge.

I don't like either team, but regardless, great October baseball.

The NL series as well.

The Rays need to win so that the Sox will remain the only team to have this distinction.

It doesn't get any better than a Game 7.

Some exciting baseball to finish off this bizarre season. Very relaxing watching it without really caring who wins. I don't understand why folks always focus on the negative. This guy choked , that team choked , what losers , they really blew it, etc. This is athletic competition at a high level. Why not focus on the achievements of the winners? Personally, I hate it when people say the Yanks choked in 2004. To me that diminishes the amazing comeback that the Sox achieved. The greatest comeback ever.

Houston cannot match what the Sox accomplished in 2004. Down to our final three outs against the greatest closer in baseball history.

I agree on all points.

Two sides of the same coin. Sox couldn't have done the amazing comeback without the Yankees choking.

If there is one positive to come out of this series for the Rays, it's that they have watched Manny Margot turn into a star at the plate...

Remember the posters who said not a single player DD traded was a difference maker?

Margot is getting paid under $1M and has 2 arb years left.

The trades we made could never be fully judged until the players we dealt saw their years of team control expire.

His actual 2020 salary was $2.475 million. Maybe you're looking at the pro-rated number.

He had a 0.6 fWAR this year, roughly equivalent to 1.6 over a full season.

Not sure you can call him a difference-maker.

Yeah, I was going to post how stress free and enjoyable a Game 7 is when your team is not in it. LOL

As far as teams choking versus the achievements of the winning team, I think it's a combination of both.

After a 4 hour, 20 minute 19-8 beat down the night before, no less. I don't think anything in sports can ever match the Red Sox comeback that year.

He is having himself a fine postseason, outside of the Yankees series.

That 19-8 game was on my 6th birthday. Good thing I don't remember it

Wtf. I don't understand this quick hook by Cash. Morton was cruising. He gives up a dinky hit and he's pulled? Morton also has a history of performing well under pressure. Cash better hope his pen can hold this. Pen that has been shaky lately
