Graterol.

That wipeout slider is one of the nastiest pitches in MLB...

Agree. Graterol might be the answer , if he can handle the situation. He definitely has the stuff. Most likely the future closer . Why not give him a shot now?

Last few innings of the Dodgers-Padres game were some wild drama.

Dodgers have a closer problem that bears watching.

Sadly, I haven't been able to watch any of the Dodgers/Padres series because of the ridiculous start time. I realize that they are west coast teams, but if the Braves and Marlins can play at 2:30 eastern time, why can't the Dodger and Padres play at 2:30 pacific time?

MLB schedulers have left a lot to be desired this season.

//End of rant.

Everything seems to revolve around the Yankees . They always have to be on in prime time in the East.

It's nothing new. Gotta maximize viewership.

I think that also applies to the Dodgers, which is why they get the later start times to accommodate their west coast viewership...

Plus on those days with 4 games they were able to spread 'em out pretty nicely...

Oakland won the A.L. West , but I think the Astros are simply the better team. Even without the cheating , there is a lot of talent on that team.

Scoreboard says you're right. They sure are swinging the bats.

Yup. The scoreboard is usually what counts in the end. Everything else is just speculation and opineing.

It didn't help the A's that they were without their best player.

All the more reason to dislike them.

If the Rays beat the Astros , and the Dodgers beat the Braves , the Rays will be traveling the same playoff road the Sox successfully travelled in 2018. In order , the Yankees , the Astros and then the Dodgers. Can they do it ?

They're the only team that can! At least this year...

If the Astros can beat the Rays and then beat the Dodgers again, it would be the funniest s*** ever.

LOL. I was thinking this too.

I'm rooting for the Rays to go all the way. I like how they eliminated the Yankees. Maybe a W.S. title would get them a new stadium, which they need.

The only way I root for the Dodgers: they would need to play the Yankees in the World Series. Otherwise, I kind of like seeing the Dodgers try so hard and come up short year after year.

I haven't read their lease, but I doubt there is a "World Series Champ Opt-Out" clause....

@BillShaikin

Dodgers scratch Clayton Kershaw from tonight's start because of back spasms. Tony Gonsolin will start.

Rays v Braves? How many S-E-C chants would we get?

A) How many Rays fans are there? Exactly.

B) If the WS coincided with the Florida-Georgia game (it won't this year), that would be AMAZING. Closest thing to TB and ATL you can get in college football

A) They are legion. They just don't like going to the Trop (and who can blame them).

B) UCF is like 30 mins closer, but nobody cares about them here, just the big three (UF, FSU and the U).

Rays up 2-0 and Braves up 1-0 in their series. Beautiful way to start these series. Hoping for a Rays and Braves series. But fully expecting both Astros and Dodgers to make them series. Astros I think will come back and win tonight. Hope I’m wrong.
