Eovaldi vs. Wojo

Nathan, buddy, I have been staunchly defending you against those who want you traded.

You've managed to stay healthy, which is nice. But your 5.93 ERA is not going to cut it.

You do have a nice SO/W ratio of 5.40, but you've been giving up a wee bit too much solid contact, to the tune of a dreadful SLG of .577.

Here's hoping for a good outing tonight.

Hey that 5.93 ERA is second best among Sox starters!!!

Probably also worth pointing out with Eovaldi, his FIP is tied (with Martin Perez) for the best among Sox starters.

For me the Yankees' woes against the Rays are taking some of the sting out of our suckitude.

Oh definitely.

At this point, all I am rooting for is September 1. I am not sure how I am going to handle baseball after that.

Well, beyond rooting against the Yankees...

Remember after Opening Day 2020 when everyone, pundits included, were deriding the Orioles as an embarrassment to big league baseball? Well, we sure showed them...

Yeah, we had a few tricks up our sleeve they didn't know about.

Everybody has at least 1 division rival that haunts their nightmares. In 2018, we s*** the bed at the Trop

Let’s go for two in a row. Jays have won 4 in a row.

Rays have over taken the Yankees. That’s funny.

Rays have kicked the Yankees much more expensive and fragile asses. Beautiful to see.

Ryan Brasier? What could go wrong?

Lol this is like trying to play with a Porcupine. What’s the worst that could happen

No way!

You'd rather wait until after next game's 3 IP 6 ER?

(BTW, I was half-joking. I would not trade Eovaldi based on one game, but I would entertain offers as I wanted before last night's gem vs a horrific team.)

The Orioles are 5th in the AL in runs scored and 4th in OPS.

and don't let Moreland hit in the 9th.

5 plate appearances in the 9th: 2 HR, a double and a single, 3.000 OPS. SSS alert.

He is becoming a no-brainer for that $3mill option.

That does lead to a very interesting question. As Moreland can be had extremely cheaply in 2021 and is having a terrific mini-season, should be be a trade asset? If you think this team is going nowhere in 2021 as well, is there a point to holding on to him? This could be the most blatant "sell high" example many of us have ever seen...

It's certainly a big question whether the Sox can compete in 2021. I think it's possible. I haven't given up on Bloom yet. (LOL)
