Chris Owings >13th pitcher?

I’m more on the “Marco as our utility infielder/new Brock Holt” bandwagon, with maybe Chavis as the 2b. But yeah, Owings sucks...

 

I figure Marco Hernandez, Sam Travis, and Michael Chavis will play musical chairs for 2nd and 1st (with possibly the 3rd DH'ing). Either way, I don't see Owings being a part of that.

Yes, I think we'll have Travis or a very cheap FA OF'er in the OF with JD at DH.

I know there is a lot of debate about it we should bring back JBJ. I understand moving on, but if we do, it better not be able to have JD play OF full time. He is horrible out there and has injured himself numerous times in his career running into walls. If JBJ Is gone, they should be targeting a cheap alternative option. For example, Jarrod Dyson level player.

We can sign a cheap OF'er, yes- like Dyson.

 

We can give Duran or G Hernandez a shot.

 

We may even try Chavis in LF.

Eduardo Nunez can also play the OF. Just because they can doesn’t mean they’re even decent at it, or that we’d want them out there. Also, Gorkys Hernandez is a complete bum. If he’s starting games for us, were probably very very f***ed.

Even with the complete dearth of outfield depth in the Sox system, I never understood why they brought in Gorkys Hernandez. The only plausible reason is Pawtucket needed a warm body to actually play games. I would call up Cole Sturgeon before calling up Hernandez ...

Kimmi, I think the sentiment that Dave has to go is not really based on this season. I think it has a lot more to do with the perception that the rebuild/reset time is here, and Dave is not the guy to implement that.

To be fair, I’ve been piling on DD since he was hired, although pausing briefly to give some credit last October.

 

That’s the thing with DD; he absolutely HAS to get the title, because his methods ensure hard times to follow, and the title makes them somewhat easier to take...
