So frustrated with the Yankees right now, losing games they should win. Those are the games you miss in September.

I'm starting to lose my patience with Boone, I gave him a free past last season, but not anymore.

I understand that half the team is in the IL, but still those loses are painful.

I still think Paxton will be a good move for us. But I was against Happ because of his age and how it really showed by the end of last year. I hope I'm wrong but he looks cooked.

George has placed a curse on the Yankees due to the cheapness of his son Hal in refusing to sign Corbin , Machado and / or Harper , instead of jabronis like Happ and Tulowitzki. " The Curse of the Boss - bino ."

And Corbin, Machado and Harper are all off to good starts. I think the Yankees really did blow it this offseason trying to be clever/thrifty instead of just going for the obvious.

And if we went that route, we wouldn’t have Lemahieu, who is leading the league in hitting. Our offense is cobbled together with glue and duct tape, yet we keep scoring. Our pitching has been bad and there’s not much excuse for it

Lemahieu was a good move, but I don't think his acquisition precluded one of the others.

Big start from CC there. We needed that. He is gonna frustrate the heck out of these young, aggressive teams with his combo of soft, softer and softest. We need others to follow suit

I think Cashman was wise not to sign Machado or Harper. Where he messed up was with not doing more to strengthen the rotation.

I’m not sure anyone can replace Sevy. Also, Tanaka has thrown 2 great starts and one stinker. When Tanaka leaves the ball up, he gets hurt. I knew it would be tough once he started pitching slowly. When he’s rolling, he gets the ball and goes. When he’s struggling, he takes forever.

Also, we usually crush Rodon. We usually torch lefties. But losing Stanton, Sanchez, Andujar, Tulo and even Didi (who hits lefties well), has left us with Judge, Voit and nobody

Yep. Definitely looks like the RailRaiders lineup right now, minus those two

Your rotation was weak or at last questionable, IMO, even eithout the Severino injury. Cashman chose to go with a strong BP instead of a stronger rotation. I think that was a mistake.

I'm a Cashman fan. But I think he messed up this offseason with your rotation. Your offense was good to go. No one could have foreseen all of the injuries.

Let's not forget who Cashman's hand-picked manager was - the doofus. I think Cash's judgment in some areas is pretty questionable.

I don’t think the decisions made on the rotation front are the crux of our issue right now. Our best pitcher thus far has been German and he wasn’t slated to start 2019 in the majors, so there’s that. Tanaka has been good. Paxton was tipping his pitches, and his career path shows more a lack of durability over a lack of performance. Happ was solid last year and a two year deal isn’t a bad thing for a veteran. And CC was lights out in his debut. Severino finished top 10 in the CY the last two seasons. You don’t replace that

I think a pretty high percentage of both Yankee fans and Red Sox fans were very surprised by the Yankees offseason of financial restraint. Instead of signing Corbin they trade their top pitching prospect for Paxton.

The only thing I would've done differently was sign Corbin over Happ. I think a rotation of Severino, Paxton, Corbin, Tanaka, and CC would have been considered one of the top rotations in baseball heading into 2019.

Fair point. That was not one of Cashman's finest moments.

Tonight's Lineup

2B LeMahieu

RF Judge

1B Voit

SS Torres

DH Frazier

3B Urshela

CF Gardner

C Romine

LF Tauchman

Will need Paxton and the bullpen to keep this a low scoring affair in order to have a shot with this D squad.

Very impressive start from Happ. Outside of a couple missed locations, he was above the zone or in with his heat and down with his breaking stuff. He has made a lot of money jamming righties or getting them to leave the zone. He is usually pretty tough on lefties with the breaking ball. Kahnle looked good coming in. Frazier drove in another run. Time to see if we can get a couple off the sox pen

Got some good momentum going into these four home games against KC. Yanks have played down to their competition so far but I'm hopeful that our starting pitching can subdue the Royals' relatively weak offense. I'm not expecting a sweep but 3 out of 4 would sure be nice. As a bonus I also hope Judge takes Junis deep a couple of times as payback for the his broken wrist.
