I wouldn’t be worried about him. Pitchers have off nights. He’s one of nastiest pitchers in league and redeemed himself today.

The O’s are on pace to obliterate the HR allowed record. Considering they’re likely to deal Cashner and probably Cobb if they could, they may accelerate their HR allowed prowess. I thought Hyde would bring them some fundamentals. If anything, if you’re coaching a bad team, having them be fundamentally sound is a must. The O’s are bad and no amount of coaching will help them win, but their brand of baseball is so terrible that it’s unwatchable

Paxton to throw a sim game Friday. If all goes well, he will be added back to the rotation. Tanaka will start Thursday after leaving his start vs TB getting hit with a comebacker. Rotation next week will be

In the interim, I bet Chance Adams gets a spot start in Paxton’s spot Friday vs KC. From here, our depth seems to be David Hale (meh) and Chance Adams (meh if he throws 91-93). But the cavalry is coming. JMont has progressed well in his rehab and has had no setbacks. Early August returns is possible. Severino should be starting his throwing program shortly as well with a post ASG return. By August, we should have seven legit big league quality arms at our disposal

The " rest " days are dictated by the boys from analytics. Their studies have shown that it is beneficial. Possibly losing an easily winnable game is not a concern of the boys . Boone has to go along with it . That's the way the game is played these days .
