It's March 28 and we haven't even won a game yet FFS. I think it's time to abandon ship and start planning for 2020.

You realize that this team will win 95 games and someone will complain "well they won 108 last year.............."

They complained enough while winning 108!

A lot of these so called experts have the skankees winning the division already.

I'm really hoping that after last season, the doom prophets will hold off on their prognostications after every loss until at least August.
I hear you. But while you can't win your division in April, you can lose it. If you would win a few of those April games that "we should have won," it might make the last series of the regular season less nerve wracking.

It’s always good to get off to a quick start. They did it last year hopefully they do it again.

The 17-2 start to last year will be hard to beat so expect all the "We're not nearly as good as last year..." starting up around the time of the 3rd loss

Yup, there's always one. At the end of the day making playoffs is all that counts. Of course you want to have the number 1 seed. But Houston had a better record last year than they did the year before and that didn't go well for them as they lost to us in 5. However I tend to get a tad upset early on in the season more than I should. I like a hot fast start rather than slumping out of the gates. It's going to be a nasty competitive season with the Yanks and Rays.

I would love to know who made up the Yankees schedule. It’s a joke of a opening schedule. I believe they play the birds 13 times.

Does it really matter? They both play the O's the same amount of times during the year. All it means is that we'll be playing better teams later in the year while the Sox are hammering the O's.

Actually, under the newish format of 5 teams in each league in the postseason, the two wild card teams play each other before going on to the ALDS/NLDS, a much bigger disadvantage than older version with 4 teams. This makes winning your division more important, and in our case that's the Yankees, who won 100 last year and can be presumed to be competitive this year.

I myself probably fall into the complainer category but consider myself a worrier more than a naysayer. This year there's a whole lot not to worry about because the hitting, the rotation, and hopefully the defense look to be between great and good enough. The bullpen is definitely a worry, but not justified unless and until they actually blow more leads than is normal (no bullpen is perfect).

Actually, I'll just bite the bullet and say that horrible, unthinkable thought right now, completely unfair as it is. You ready? I don't think the Sox will win 108 games this year. I don't think they will start out 17-2 either.

I was one of them, I think right after the Yankees won 9 straight in April and 8 straight in early May to pretty much catch up with us. I didn't think I was complaining, however, as much as I was worried. I likened the Yankees (when they were 24-10 and about to play the Sox in NYC) to an onrushing freight train. They were 1 game back going in and tied coming out. Funny thing, though, I was actually pretty happy with how the Sox context all three games even though they only won 1.

Naw it seems like the league wants to help the skanks a little.

I can't remember who was complaining and who was just worried, and maybe sometimes it's hard to tell the difference, but it sure sounded like a lot of complaining, lost hope and even disgust and anger pretty much all season long, except for maybe the 17-2 start and a little bit afterwards. (Not saying from you, specifically.)

Thanks a bunch ESPN for forcing this into a night game.

Gives me an excuse not to watch March Madness

Ah back to game threads. Couldn't be happier. Nice to see you all back.

Feeling is mutual, my good man
