The only take away from today is that Sale didn’t have his pre-injury velocity and couldn’t locate to an otherwise poor offensive club. If he’s a 91-93 pitcher, he’s going to need to locate much better

Except, these three teams are not exactly winning teams. In fact, Arizona is outright losing team. But it's hard to start off with a western swing--I think that's a bit of a punishment.

I said that in a thread days ago and got hammered for being the world's leading pessimist and disloyal fan. I guess you can say that stuff on game thread though. Last year our great start was largely due to starting off against weak teams.

 

I do think it all evens out so I don't blame the MLB schedulers. I mean, isn't kind of hard to blame them for Chris Sale s***ing in his pants after getting that very nice extension to his contract? I'm a huge Sale fan, but those three innings were awful-awful.
