I disagree.

Any fan has concerns about their team or at least they should IMO otherwise they are not a true fan. Remember, fan is short for fanatic.

Perhaps it's short for fantasy!

I hoped this thread would not become something like this.

This is what happens when we feed trolls. :(

No reasons for concern as yet , but let's not get off to a rocky start and get too far behind the Yankees . Last season was phenomenal . All seashells , balloons and parades .. Then we basically took a nap during the off season . No problem . Everyone is back except Kimbrel and Kelly . We will be fine . Then came a lackluster spring training . No problem . Spring training results are meaningless . We can turn it on come opening day . Then came a dismal opening day . Sale with one of his worst starts ever . The bullpen stunk . No problem . Just one game . Everything will be okay . Okay , fine . But we are getting in the habit of shrugging things off . We need to see some better baseball before too long . I am still cautiously optimistic about this season . But maybe not as supremely confident as last year .

OK, I got the answer. Trade Mookie to the Yankees for their entire bullpen. Who's with me on this?

Obviously , we are not trading Mookie . But the difference between our bullpen and the Yankees' pen is pretty striking , no matter how you look at it . This could be a real problem .

While I was down there, we stopped at the Thomas Edison Henry Ford museum, which, btw, is a great activity if anybody goes down for Spring Training. There were different rates for children (0-11), teens (12-19), and adults (20+). I read the sign and thought to myself, Holy s***, I'm not a teenager anymore.

Wait, you're Wayne Gretzky??

Interesting rotation alignment from Cora.

Sale

Eovaldi

ERod

Porcello

Price

He’s intentionally sandwiching the righties between the lefties, but he’s stacking two similar lefties in Price and Sale. Most time a manager wants to avoid the same look on back to back days vs the same team, yet Cora has done exactly that with his twin towers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually slid Eovaldi between them later in the year due to off days, but I just find it odd to intentionally go L-R-L-R-L yet stack the two most similar guys back to back.

I think the main intention to start with was to push Price to the back because of all the postseason innings.

I don't know exactly what Cora's going to do. He's far from conventional and predictable.

Strange how what sounded like out pitching strength, the starters, have had a rough go and the BP came through at least last night. Baseball is confusing and unpredictable in the short term but in the long term things will be okay.

Yes sir. We're only two games in, and no one could have predicted how either one of those games would unfold.

A movie I like but most don't is Alan J Pakula's Comes a Horseman, starring Jane Fonda and James Caan, who plays the cowboy (in Montana, after World War II) and Army veteran who turns out to be the horseman in the title who helps her save her ranch. His character keeps saying, "I figure," until Fonda's finally says, "you sure do like to figure, don't you?"

That's Cora. Always figuring. He may be be young, but he sees and knows things the rest of us don't. Last night was just one more example of how his moves have worked, especially pinch-hitting for both Travis, who had 2 hits, and Vazquez, who had a homer, in the 9th inning. Plus no qualms about letting Swihart catch Barnes for the 9th inning save.

Cora also is the one who said he is fine with his bullpen although right now he is going with 8 instead of the usual 7. So after 2 games, who has done better, our high-priced rotation or are much-maligned (I'm one of the doubters) bullpen? Last night they went 4 innings, got 7 K's, and gave up no walks, no hits, and no runs.

After 2 games Cora has used 11 of 12 position players (all except Holt), 2 of 5 starters, and 7 of 8 relievers (in itself an unusual number because most teams go with 7). I don't think Brasier has pitched yet and almost certainly because Cora has something definite in mind for him.

Price got the flu, which push him back. He was schedule to pitch in Seattle.

Hope ERod gets off to a better start than Sale & Eovaldi did.

Co-sign that moonslav59 but i am sure our pitching will come around. I think it’s the lack of work in spring training .

Seems like Rodriguez got more spring training innings than sale and evaldi put together,

He did.

Cora went very easy on Sale, Price and Eovaldi.

In Cora we trust!

I agree. Its really getting old watching our SPs groove the ball to guys who don't hit many HRs.

I'm not worried about our rotation either. I think I have more confidence in the rotation than the offense, and I'm pretty damn confident our offense will be better than last year.

It's all about health with our rotation.

But I thought you were the optimistic fan with no concerns?

You are a total clown.

I never said that. Please, take a reading comprehension class.

You are on this board because?

Probably because the Yankee board already booted him out for failure to understand basic logic.
