Just how much help can we expect from our farm in the next few years?

Here's a position by position look at what we have already on the farm:

1B:

25 Travis

23 Chavis

23 Ockimey (if not claimed on rule 5)

Dalbec (Maybe better to keep at 3B and move Devers to 1B)

18 Casas

3B:

23 Chavis

23 Dalbec

19 Howlett

19 Northcut

18 Casas

17 D Diaz

SS:

24 Lin

23 Chatham

18 A Flores

2B:

24 Lin

22 B Netzer

C:

21 K Cottam

16 E Lopez

OF

22 Duran

19 Decker

18 G Jimenez

P:

30 M Walden

27 J Haley

26 C Brewer

26 C Shepherd

25 Poyner

25 J Taylor

24 Shawaryn

24 Lakins

The answer to your question is not much.

I think Felton is in Boston by September first and he is a definite upgrade, some of the relievers can give Boston some innings next season.

Travis, Lin and a few others can provide some at bats in case of injury.

I think Travis and/or Marco Hernandez will be traded or DFA'd at some point between now and the July trading deadline.

I think Chavis, Dalbec and even Ockimey have a better chance at helping the big club next year than Travis.

With the Quiroz trade, we may give Marco a look in ST'ing to see if he shows any signs of hope, but I'vbe written him off, at this point.

I think Feltman is not going to make a showing this year. He would have to be added to the 40 man roster, which could happen if he is doing very well, but with so many options already on the 40 man roster who will more likely be given a shot, if we need to dip into our farm depth.

Even if we don't sign a pitcher (very unlikely), we still have all these arms currently ahead of Feltman:

Barnes

Brasier

Hembree

Workman

Thornburg

(SP'er from Wright, Johnson or Velazquez)

Poyner

Robby Scott

M Walden

C Brewer

T Lakins

J Taylor

(SP'er from AAA: Shawaryn, Shepherd, Haley, J Smith or AA: D Hernandez & T Houck)

then, maybe Feltman

I have seen Feltman pitch live and in person while he was in Greenville.

His stuff is electric. Only a couple of the relief pitchers on your list have stuff like his. Unless he is injured, it is hard to imagine any scenario where he is not on the bullet express to Boston by September.

I can imagine he's doing really well, is promoted to AAA mid season, but we find 7+ RP'ers from my list that are getting the job done. And, that is assuming we sign nobody, which is highly unlikely.

Oh I think we see a lot of things differently. For example, you saw Bryce Brentz as young and a major leaguer;)

notin don't stop there for God's sake. What about so and so's son you know the big guy who plays the outfield. Forget his name but I was all over him as well. I just don't know what comes over me. I just don't get it. If I only listened to your true words of wisdom. lol

I can teach you the finer point of scouting aka Notin’s Laws of Prospects

Law #1 Never get excited about anyone in A-ball.

Law #2 Never get excited about anyone in AAA whose over 26 or been at that level for3 years or more.

What is up with this? I would sooner have you teach me something useful notin like how to use the computer. As for Notin's Lows of Prospects, ya not so much. I prefer to wing it along.

I agree with you. Feltman is making faster progress through the system and appears to be our best hope to make the team during the season. It may even occur before Sept.

Feltman, Casas, and Flores - got my good eye on them.

I think Feltman may see a cup of coffee in 2019, but he also may play his way into being a trade chip for a need at the deadline. I know a few pundits who picked him to be the first player from the draft to make the bigs, and he is looking like that might be right.

Let me give you some helpful computer pointers.

First, computers are filled with delicate electronics that can be damaged by electricity. In no way should you let any electricity near your computer. Unplug it from the wall. Remove the battery. Make sure the power is not on and no dangerous amps are destroying your computer’s innards.

Once you have done that, come back for your next lesson...

I liked Bryce Brentz and didn't understand why he didn't see more major league playing time.

He got to AAA in 2012. He was still there last year.

I just watched a documentary on Moon and saw footage of him passing out.

They were injecting him with speed in the foot and holding him up as he played on. They couldn't get the needle in, because he kept banging the bass drum.

Those were the day, eh?

And a happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend! Gorging one's self on food and then watching football almost mandates copious amounts of beer... doesn't it?

Had a nice feast with family and friends.

The football was a bit boring.

How many days to truck day?

Only about 2.5 months. We'll get through it.

Think how different the conversation would be had we not won the World Series. Yikes.

This is so much better. Now we're only worried about repeating in 2019 (and wouldn't jump off a cliff if we come up short). Sucks to be a Yankee fan. Things maybe looking up. But can they win it all? Pressure is all on them.
