It would be a blast to meet you. The last 2 springs I took in the games with Dewey. It has been a lot of fun.

Yes. and I expect to see you too, Thunder. And anyone else who's in Ft. for ST. I'm always up for putting a face with a name.

Alrighty then! I'll be around for the week of St. Patrick's Day, I believe. The main focus of the trip, however, will be playing golf, and escaping from the harsh winter

Eovaldi's performance in Game 3 was magnificent, but I don't see how it puts him with Price's 2 games.

It was just the luck of the draw, mind you, that Eovaldi only pitched significant innings in one game.

Personally, I'd give the MVP to the pitching staff, as a whole. They held some pretty good offenses mostly in check.

Price gets a lot of the hoopla, and deservedly so, but I think the whole lot of them did a fantastic job.

Also, a shout out to the postseason game thread starters.

And to all you other crazies who added your mojo to the wins.

Well done guys!

Yeah, but how would they cut up that truck? :)

I'm thinking that maybe they should have just had cheverolet keep the truck and gone with the classic - team MVP - often times it doesn't fit, this time it did. Total team effort.

you can make an argument for Joe Kelly winning the WS MVP.

he pitched in all 5 games.

6 ip / 10k / 0bb / 0.667 whip / 0.00 era / 1 Win

Absolutely!

Bottom line..... SO MANY deserved a share of MVP! Pearce absolutely deserved it! Kelly absolutely deserved it!!! Price absolutely deserved it! Eovaldi absolutely deserved it! HELL .... Most nights, the spark plug time & time again was Holt. He deserved it! Game 1, Nunez deserved it.

The much maligned BP stepped up! All of them.

Every PH'r stepped up!

Game 4, Mooreland pulled our arsses out of the fire!

Hell, without Nuner & Mooreland, we are going to game 7....

I could go on & on.

This whole damned team DESERVES this WSC!

Guys just kept stepping up when we needed them down the stretch.

Arguably, our big 4 were GOOD, but NOT great. BUT! Without them, we don't even making it to the WS!

It is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING that our #1 ACE was virtually sidelined, but guys like Eovaldi stepped up? Price FINALLY remembered that HE IS AN ACE. (p.s. say bye bye to him now). We barely knew ya Price. :'(

WHAT A TEAM victory! Pretty awesome that they ALL deserve a piece of this!

And thanks to Thunder for NOT jinxing Price with the 2 ER prediction.

I wasn't too far off. I nailed the Price prediction in ALCS Game 5, which was really going out on a limb since he hadn't really had a solid start in the playoffs at that point.

I was very surprised to see that this was the 4th lowest viewed WS in history, down 25% from last year.

Pretty strange considering it was 2 historic teams in large markets.

The numbers have, on average, been in decline for three decades. On the other, the ratings appear to have stabilized over the past decade or so, with the obvious exceptions of 2016 and 2017 — seasons which featured (a) two clubs attempting to break long droughts and then (B) seven of the most exciting games in World Series history, respectively. If there is any disappointment over this year’s ratings, it’s probably due to the high expectations created by the previous two years.

For the most part, the World Series has followed general viewing trends. As more options for consumers have emerged, it has become more difficult for any kind of programming to attract a large audience. There have been exceptions: the 1991 World Series between Atlanta and Minnesota, a dramatic post-9/11 Yankees-D-backs event, and the Cubs curse-breaking spectacle. But the relationship between the TV’s No. 1 show and the World Series has been strong, producing an r-squared of .83 during this time period.

The last three five-game World Series matchups have resulted in an average rating of 8.5, and this year arrived at basically the same result. There is probably a lot MLB can do to better promote the game of baseball, but fans ultimately tune in for compelling narratives and close games from start to finish. This season lacked both, and the ratings suffered.

The games start too late and last too long. They have probably lost out on 2 generations of kids becoming fans as a result. Why not play afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday?

Yup. My son saw all of 1 out of the World Series live. Pretty s*****. No wonder Youth Baseball leagues are seeing dramatic decrease of players year over year.

I can understand that they want night games during the weekdays to increase the TV audience, but I don't get the reason for weekend night games. Are they so afraid that college football and the NFL will eat into the ratings? I think that assumption might be mistaken, and the day games would help draw in young kids as fans. I understand greed in business, but stupid short-sighted greed disgusts me.

I would like to join you guys. I've been in opening day, great regular season games, this time in a WS, and now I'd like to go to ST next year. Hopefully we can match the dates.
