Glad someone else can see what's right in front of them

Yes. being a jock myself I understand that dealing with pressure is tough and if you don't have the intestinal fortitude you shouldn't be out there.

Nice win. Cora sacrifice tomorrow’s game to win this game. I still hope we find a way and close it out tomorrow. Likely price and Rodriguez pitching with kelly and Barnes in the pen.

Win today, there'll be a new script tomorrow. The team got it done despiute a weak start by Porcello and a weaker finish by Kimbrel, saved by his OF'ers. Beni and Betts with the glove, and JBJr with the bat, as odd as that twist sounds.

And a real pro in any sport will tell you that time virtually stops, the game slows down, the noise goes away and you rely on your confidence and muscle memory to let you prevail over the opponent. The thinkers lose all composure because they do not want to be in that spot. The winners seek it out.

What a f***ing game!

Yes sir! Can’t remember a game like this. I gues this is how you have to beat Houston.

We burned up the Astros pen pretty well for tomorrow. Verlander will need a complete game or to hand the ball to Osuna. I don't think that will happen. Our guys usually get to a pitcher the second time.

While he is usually dominant, I think we have all seen the Sox pound Verlander.

I say give him an early exit so he can go home and play with his Wife's fake tits.

I am more interested in knowing who will pitch for the Sox.

Kimbrel made me drink almost a bottle of tequila and now I can’t sleep LOL!

Grill-up some Carnitas and put them in corn tortillas with red sauce and cilantro.

Drink the remaining tequila.

You are Mexican. I should not have to spell this out for you.

I hope they find a way to close it out and have Sale ready for a possible game 1 World Series.

If Sale pitches game 6, he won't be ready until game 3 of the WS (FRI 10-26) with an extra day of rest. He can then pitch game 7 on normal rest.

He's only going to go 2 games anyways, so maybe 3 and 7 are better than 1 and 5.

Kimbrel gave up 2 hits and 3 walks. This is not the same guy that we saw last year.

Nah.

He is the same if you take a Nitroglycerin pill.

That’s ridiculous because Mookie would of made that caught if the fan doesn’t alter his glove. Plus it wouldn’t of been a homerun because the ball went back in the play off of the fans hand and Mookie’s glove so it would’ve been a double. I don’t get this whole they got robbed of a two run homerun. It’s irritating because it whole talk right now. Shefield’s an idiot he’s an ex Yankee so of course that’s what he’s going to say.

I agree.

The point the TBS crew is making, is that if Mookies glove was over the wall, the rules states there can be no interference.

The MLB studio crew has a much more rational take on the Mookie/Altuve call. Their take is that there is not a better shot of where Mookie and his glove and the fan were at the point of contact. There is as much evidence in the video that we have that Mookie was high in the air but at the wall, not over it that there is of Mookie being on the fan's side of the wall. If the fan is reaching even slightly across that invisible line that extends up from the wall itself, then its fan interference.

The only video that would have been anything like definitive would be the shot along the wall that the Security Guard unfortunately blocked. West made the call he made immediately and Chelsea NY could not overturn it.

Apparently Joe Casitglione fell out of his chair on Beni's catch to end the game.

I heard that too. Need to see a picture.

I don't really know why they had Price warming hard in the pen. It as much as guaranteed he won't be able to do much today or may not be able to pitch at all effectively or for very long. Erod has totally evaporated in this post season. So I don't know who pitches this thing for us today. Is Sale going to go after all?

Plus Correa has stirred and Bregman has finally started to zero in. Springer is on fire. Even Altuve appears capable of hitting though he can't run.

I suspect that after today we are headed back to Boston up 3-2 and forcing the Astros to win 3 in a row, 2 in our house. Very difficult but not impossible. We just did it. But I still think this Astros team is too reliant on guys that are not terrible fit physically to win 3 games in a row against the Sox.

I don't think the Astros give a rats behind about being down 3-1 in this series. They will come out and play with everything they have and so will we. I just do not see how we bridge the gap from innings 1 through 9 pitching today while the Astros have an obvious path through the early and middle innings through to the 7th, 8th and 9th innings. Verlander is obviously capable of giving the Astros the innings Morton/James gave them last night. Price is already effectively toast for today and Erod is hopelessly lost. Sale is apparently not ready to go.

Seems to me the Sox have no choice but to start Erod or Price in spite of the obvious issue of Price having thrown so hard in the pen last night. You have to weigh Erod's hopelessness v the amount of gas in the tank Price used in the pen last night. It is were me I would go Price supported by Erod early and try to gut it out.

Didn't they sustain the call and not say it was too inconclusive to overturn?

Hey STORK. Just for fun I thought I'd reproduce a few of your choice comments after the Sox won the ALDS.

"This is bound to piss off many blind Red Sox fans since after beating the Yankees I no longer care what happens the rest of the way. Good luck to the good guys in white and red.

Benintendi will never be a serious player , weak arm and no bat when it counts.

The offense could not produce a single run since the 4th inning.

Astros will own these guys in the ALCS, but nice to make an appearance."

1) Houston cares about being down 3-1. Yes, they will come out to win tonight.

2) If Kimbrel walked Breg, Price comes in up 8-7, bases loaded, 2 outs.

If Mookie's glove is in the stands, the fans have a right to interfere and catch the ball. Understood. I just don't know if Mookie crossed that line or if the fans crossed the line by interfering with a ball that was not yet in the stands. It is impossible to tell:

If I had to take a position beyond "inconclusive" I would say that the fans reached over (but not by much).

I wonder if any of those fans were forced to leave the park?

I wanna close this out tonight!! Don’t give them life! Anything can happen in game 6. I just don’t understand the controversy with the betts catch. The guy jumped and timed it perfectly. The ball was gonna land on his glove until a fan touched his glove and closed it. Someone tell me why that shouldn’t be interference? What are these idiots pointing at?

The fan interference controversies in baseball could easily be prevented if they left a little space between the walls and the first row of seats. There's no interference in other sports. Of course no changes will be made because it would cost $$$

because if the ball is in the stands, the fans can interfere. It is a jurisdiction thing. The stands belong to the fans, the field of play belongs to the players. If the fans reached over into the field of play, the umpire made the right call. If Betts reached over into the stands, the umpire made the wrong call.

They need to change the f***ing rule or something. That was a hell of a play by mookie.
