if it is the yankees, none of their starters worry me. we will hit any of them. i hope CC starts so we can bunt on his fat ass over and over and over again.

pitching against us will not be a factor until the ALCS....

The problem is, nobody on our team knows how to bunt, except for maybe Holt.

No guarantee it is the Yanks. Wednesday will be wild

Absolutely true. But including the A's in the discussion is just too hard for me. Your team I know.

Exactly.

Who pegged the Brewers for home field throughout the NL playoffs? This is a team that was 5 games out in early September. Anything can happen at this point...

Excellent point, notin. The postseason just got down to 10 teams and it's already been a wild ride. Rockies and Cubs both lost yesterday and are still in it.

I understand, but it's the playoffs and you have to ask it another way.

How many teams can lose 3 out of 5, even to the Baltimore Orioles? ALL OF THEM

How many teams could lose 1 game, even to the Baltimore Orioles? ALL OF THEM

So true.

I can't see Sale starting game 1 unless he's healthy.

I won't be surprise if he comes out firing upper 90's fastballs

I can't see anyone else starting game 1, except Sale... even an 80% Sale.

Cora on Sale: “I’m 100 percent sure that he’s healthy and he’s going to be fine.” Though interestingly, said he didn’t know whether Sale has gotten a cortisone shot in this process.

Cora says Sale got an MRI when placed on the DL a 2nd time. He says that Sox are confident that he’s healthy, particularly given that he’s been able to add velo in most competitive situations, and because Sale has said velo drop is mechanical. Cora: ‘I’m 100% sure he’s healthy.’

I thought it was funny that the only NL playoff team not in a one-game playoff was the team with the worst record of the five...

That just seems wrong. The Braves are rewarded for playing in the weakest division.

With unbalanced schedules, there will always be some sort of injustice.

And the Cubs had sole possession of the best record in the NL after 160 games and wound up playing for the Wild Card and potential one game elimination....

Crazy time in the NL this year!

The Cubs had a 5 game lead for the division on September 2. If they lose tonight, maybe this should be added to the list of September collapses.

But it will always take a back seat to the Mets losing a 7 1/2 game lead with 17 games to play and, of course, the horrific collapse of the 2011 Red Sox.

The 2006 Cardinals nearly added themselves to that list, but righted the ship at the very end and went on to win the World Series...

Atlanta also had a nasty collapse in 2011.

They went 13-11 after having that lead.

It's more about the Brewers doing very well.

If Cora is 100% sure of his health, then so am I.

I'm hard pressed to think of a collapse greater than that of the 1964 Phiilies, who blew a 6 1/2 game lead with 12 to play.

That would be the worst. Phillies fans must have felt like their hearts were ripped out. Only 2 teams in the playoffs in those days.

Gene Mauch was the manager of that 1964 Phillies team.

He was also the manager of the 1986 Angels team that lost the ALCS to us after leading 3 games to 1, and by 3 runs in the 9th in Game 5 in their home park.

Cora says he is 100% sure Sale is healthy...until he isn't. As I have said here many times we are not owed the truth about the medical conditions of the players. It is possible that Sale is healthy; it is also possible that the Sox do not want to give a competitive edge to their opponents by revealing physical impediments to performance. When Sale comes out and is vintage Sale then I will believe he is 100% healthy.

Trust.............but verify.
