Great win! But......Cora really has to sort his sh*t out with how he is managing this bullpen.

He left Kelly in to long on opening day and did the same again tonight with Walden.

From this side of the pond Walden does not look anywhere near good enough.

Not how I see it. He tries to give good players time off, then when it gets too nail bitey, closes the door. The real problem is that we had to go to Kimbrel at all at 6 and 0.

Porcello looks like 2016 guy

He really had the sinker working tonight, and played the four seamer off it very nicely.

When he is right, he can be very tough to hit against.

That’s a good alternative way of looking at it. This bullpen in the main fills me with dread.

Great to see Porcello back to his best, hope his three games are a sign of things to come this season.

I swear...... we should all get together and make a horror movie about bullpens...... I'm with you, they almost always have a horror movie aspect. Well, they dodged a bullet today even though exhausting a main player. I'll take the win over the Yanks at that cost. Never enough nails in the coffin for the yanks...

Using "Walden" and "Pond" in the same sentence makes me feel like there's an opportunity for wordplay in there, but I just can't find it even after a Thoreau search.

Amen to that brother!

The Sox beat up on Severino and Tanaka and scored a decent amount off of Gray. That bodes well for the rest of the season, I think, and it should put to rest the arguments from some people that the Sox were playing above expectations due to facing only Tampa Bay and Miami for the first 10 games.

I don't mind him using Kimbrel-he hadn't worked since Sunday. The fact that he HAD to go to Kimbrel after Walden sucked Pond Water is troublesome. I would not have allowed Walden to start the 9th.

The way he is pitching at the moment I don’t think he could even land a ball in a pond. Including the big one between us all.

Nor me, which goes back to what I meant earlier about Cora needs to sort out how he manages the pen. He would certainly of been off after the walk.

Yup. But for Price, a sweep.

Which one? Judge or Gregorius?

Of course, if Devers makes the play on Stanton's ground ball, it's a double play and we probably aren't having this conversation. And the sequence from the errors on Stanton's grounder to the Sanchez double was all of 6 pitches. I'm surprised Kimbrel was able to get loose that quickly.

Walden pitched okay in the 8th. A 6-0 game (or 0-6) is the type of game you use the last guy in your pen in, especially when said pen had to cover 8 innings the day before.

Yup. I think Cora is giving Walden enough chances in low stress situations to see if he can stick with the big club. It doesn't look like he can.

We have some decent pitchers on the farm and some pitchers returning from the DL soon, so it does olook like Walden's days are numbered in Boston-- for now.

Yes he does. 3 awesome starts. His confidence must be on a high! Hope he can keep it going! This rotation if Price can stay healthy is scary!!

the error didnt help the kid. i say give him another shot in a low leverage situation.

alright Max - your turn to get 9 in a row.
