Pure supposition.

Yeah, of course it is.

Besides, I didn't want him after 2015 anyways, despite the good season. He was getting too old.

Money talks. If the Sox wanted to keep Lackey, he'd still be here. Same goes for Lester.

At the time, I felt we should have signed HRam to play 3B and Scherzer to pitch. At least, we'd have been half right.

Inexcusable to save Davis for a save situation that might never happened. Serves them right.

Serves Maddon right. He is the only part about the Cubs winning it all last year that I didn't like. I am pulling for Dave Roberts in the NL this time around.

Dodgers BP 24 up, 24 down, 0 hits, 0 walks, in 2 games. 3 more outs they would have Pitched a Perfect game. That's dominating. Cubs better get to Darvish, and not give the Dodgers a lead say going into 7th inning.

Cubs have to win tonight. Don't see them coming back 3-0.

Cubs are looking like a one year wonder.

Cubs fans love them some Theo!

I hate anything LA as I hate anything NYC.

This sucks but what the hell.

They are my 2 most hated teams. The Yankee hate is obvious. I hate the Dodgers, because I grew up in Brooklyn and they broke my Dad's heart when they moved and they deprived me of my home town team 2 years before I was born. I probably will not watch a Yankee- Dodgers World Series, but I am rooting for our old friend, Dave Roberts.

Calling the Cubs a 1 hit wonder is a bit off, IMO. They have a young core that already won a title and ran into a buzzsaw in LA. Whoever comes out of the AL will have a really tough task to beat this deep Dodger team. With all that that team has spent, they are the new evil empire

Lester isn't getting any younger. Arrieta will be 32 next season and has been figured out by the league. Lackey is 38 and at the end. It is time for Ben to come in and blow up their rotation.

Even if they rebuild their rotation, they can still contend with the core of talent they have

Theo is better at building a rotation than Ben who did not have a clue in that regard.

Calling the Cubs a 1 hit wonder is not a bit off, it's ridiculous. It's difficult for any team to repeat as World Series champs. It's not like the Cubs failed to make the playoffs or win their division, or anything like that.

They might make the playoffs a couple or three times in the next 5 years and that is their window for another championship.... and then the cliff.

Lol.

The only team that can face a cliff is the Sox. You should know this by now!!!!

That's right. I forgot that Theo is infallible. He will leave the Cubs right before he drives them over a cliff and let others take the blame.

But, first, he must don a gorilla suit and go AWOL, then wait a few years.

If the Cubbies miss the playoffs next season, he could break out the gorilla suit.

Arrieta and Lackey are both free agents/goners. The Cubs will have a lot a money to spend and they'll need to sign at least one top starter.

Theo doesn't do cliffs.

But even if he did, which he doesn't, the Cubbies have already won the World Series. That makes Theo's whole non-existent cliff philosophy worth it.

If we win a World Series in the next 2 years, then Dombrowski's cliff building will have been worth it.

Theo just recently said that he is likely going to have to trade players this offseason. What that actually means is anybody's guess, but it sounds like he's looking at trading more than he is at signing free agents.

He'll be busy, you can count on that.

He actually has young players/prospects ready to fill in for guys he may trade, unlike us.

He planned to win now and going forward.
