Our cute backup 2b lost us this game while our starter is playing full games in the minors. Maybe we activate our all star 2b before tomorrow Cash, you f***wit?

Seriously? Your backup 2B bobbled the ball after there were already two men on with no one out, in scoring position. If you want to blame this on anyone, blame it on the guy who fielded both infield hits. Or the catcher who was behind the plate for the double steal. Or the pitcher who couldn't record an out. The Sox had a guy on third with no one out. What were the odds that they wouldn't at least score the tying run even without the error?

f***ing Yes! We couldn't... no, no, no... we shouldn't and most important, we didn't deserve lose this one.

Youk, Didi played a huge role as well.

Didi didn't have a shot with Betts, but his stupid play to 2b on the Pedroia grounder started in motion this merry go round of ridiculousness. Torreyes bobbling the ball took us from tie game to inevitable loss. Also, Torreyes f***ed up a double play ball earlier that led to one of your runs as well. Our defense played like s***. Time to bring back a guy whose D may not be stellar, but he can sure hit

the double steal was on Chap btw, Sanchez had no prayer

Let's say we don't f*** up that inning.

Betts goes to 2b on Pedroia's groundout. 1 out

Betts may even steal 3b.

Torreyes fields the ball and throws out Bogaerts. Betts scored. 2 down

Now we have Hanley up with nobody on and 2 out in the 9th. The game is tied unfortunately, but we bring up the bats next inning. Instead, we f*** it all up and lose

Heck of a damn comeback!!!!!

As the late Hall of Fame announcer for the Pirates, Bob Prince, would have said, "we had 'em all the way".

Didi probably didn't have a shot with Pedroia either the way he had to move for that - but the throw was obviously the problem. Rather be lucky than good sometimes. Given the Yankees bullpen issues - ironic that they blow a game where they pitched quite well.

Lol it feels sweet especially against that team and their closer. I still feel this offense could use another bat but we will see.

Lol. Imagine the shame of losing on a walk-off walk.

Lulz.

I can't remember the details off the top of my head, but I believe the Braves won a postseason series on a walk-off walk. I want to say it was to Andruw Jones. I don't remember the pitcher, but I think it was the Mets.

You’re correct. It actually advanced the Braves to the 99 World Series. I lived in Atlanta as a kid around the Braves good years. Boy they were fun to watch.

A walk-off walk = a WOW...all you need is a shot of the pitcher actually saying 'Wow' as he walks off the mound and it's perfect.

I never have understood how a pitcher can allow that to happen. Can't every ML pitcher throw a strike when they have to, even if it's a middle-of-the-plate meatball pitch? When the pitcher throws a strike in that situation anything can happen from a HR to a K but when he throws a ball outside the zone he KNOWS what the outcome will be. His only saving possibility at that point is that the batter swings at a bad pitch and that's an unreasonable gamble to be taking under those circumstances. He HAS to be pitching to contact... doesn't he???

That situation is no time to be nibbling & hoping that he doesn't miss the plate by a couple of inches or that he doesn't get a bad call from the umpire. In that situation the most important thing is to throw a strike.

It happens. I pitched a bit and was pretty good. It's rare, but sometimes you just lose the strike zone.

I had one game I couldn't get a fastball in the strike zone for about two innings. I had to pitch nothing but curveballs.

Awesome win last night. Some tidbits I read about the game this morning:

1. Pedroia's hit in the 2nd was the first hit with RISP against the Yankees this season (previously 0-24), and the win was the first win when trailing after 8 innings (previously 0-38).

2. The double steal was Mookie's call, not Farrell's. Could you imagine having to walk back to the dugout if he'd gotten thrown out?

3. To steal something from PA, Beni is so chill that he took off his shin guard before walking to first base. LOL

Have I mentioned that that was an awesome win?
