We will just have to see about Espinoza. So far, it has just been hype. And he has not lived up to it as yet. Hard throwing young pitchers are becoming very commonplace. Time will tell if he is special. There is no way to know that at this time.

I totally agree, but I've" made my bed" concerning Espi, so I'm sleeping in it.

I realize I could be very wrong, but my gut still loves the kid.

You keep forgetting you're not in BDC anymore, man. We don't even have dozens of posters here LOL

Good point.

Maybe a "handful".

Have we hit against decent pitching?

Santana. His only bad game this year was against us.

Not that it really means much.

Not good for Sale.

The way this team is playing I would save Kimbrel for days that Sale pitches. If we are going to score just a couple of runs per, these two guys deserve to get them.

Blow it up, but I don't want DD putting it back together. We won't have a farm left.

Fire Farrell

Sell Pedroia to some Mexican league

Too late for that.

ya lets see - did any of our current players actually play for us before DD was hired?- thought so. I wonder which group might be under performing the most? it is ridiculous to blame any one person for this big bag of suck that we have playing for us currently. A poorly coached bunch of little punch and judy players.

Dombrowski is not to blame for the way our current team is playing. He did his job as far as assembling a team that should be contending for the playoffs this year. The injuries and underperformances are not his fault.

I don't think Farrell is as much to blame as some people think he is, but when almost the entire team is playing like this team is playing, and for a fair length of time, you do have to start questioning the coaching staff.

I called out Ben for building s***** pitching staffs when there were obvious glaring needs. I will call out DD for doing nothing to replace a HOF bat.

And I will call him out for dressing like Tommy Heinson circa 1972.

That and acquiring damaged goods in Pomeranz , Smith and Thornberg.

Don't bother lecturing me about how that is not his fault. He made those deals and we have gotten almost NOTHING IN RETURN to date.

I realize no one bats 100% in dealings but those are three high profile failures.

Don't ever look for me to defend a FO suit. His honeymoon ended a long time ago for me.

It doesn't matter if Espi turns out great, good, average or bad. The deal is a mess. At the time was the number one pitching prospect, he could have got more for the buck. If that's all they could have got, you don't do the deal...

It's a shame they couldn't keep Margot and included Bradley in the deal. He's hitting close at 280 and what 43 hits I thought . If he motivates himself ,he will be a 300 hitter with 25 SB and he's only 22.

I would have done the Kimbrel deal though. I just wonder if they had 2 include Margot. I wonder if they passed on Pomeranz would have they taken Espi as the centerpiece for Kimbrel.

If the Pods said no on both Bradley and Espi. The CWS wanted Bradley in the Sale deal , yes they would have included Moncada as well deal/ breaker, but maybe they would have kept Koepach.

If you pass on Pomeranz, it is possible they could have kept both Margot and Koepach and still have had Kimbrel and Sale by adding Espi in the Kimbrel deal and Bradley in the Sale deal. Don't forget they dealt Eaton as well. Their was a need. That's why they need Devers up here and producing before he trades him for a bullpen player coming off TJS. He's an impulsive GM plain and simple. Just know other way of slicing it.

Correct. Don't let them tell you anything else.

Good to see Dombroski take some hits, which he definitely deserves.
The only positive about DD in my mind is that he is not Ben -- who was just awful.

I have been a supporter of his as I was for those other two guys before him when they held the same job he holds. I like the fact that we have Kimbrel and I like the fact that we have Sale. other than that ... What have you done for me lately? One of my biggest gripes and concerns has and will continue to be that they didn't add the power bat to accompany what we have and to help make up for what we lost. I've been willing to give Moreland a shot but I am really less than impressed with him. If Napoli had been resigned, i would have been just as happy. We have a number of good contact hitters but outside of Mookie and Ramirez (when he is able to play) it really doesn't look like there is enough pop in our lineup. Most of our players actually look like what they are - contact hitters. It is very disappointing for sure and I'm not anymore of a happy camper than anyone else with the product that we are seeing out there. DD is the boss and he gets to take the bulk of the blame.

His answer for that was a great rotation and bullpen....... unfortunately THorn, Smith and Price are no where to be seen.

I'm done with Farrell......... I really think another manager could get more out of this team....

He should have anticipated that the effect of losing Ortiz would be enormous. he did nothing to replace that bat, and yes I consider getting Moreland to be as good as doing nothing. The guy is a career .317 OBP over 8 MLB seasons.

Edit: As for Farrell, he can't even get rote group think right.

I agree: he looks better than anything we have now, but I trust the Sox brass to know when "ML ready" is.

I'm usually the last to call for a manager's removal, but I have not been a JF fan for a long time.

I just don't see any plus traits at all.

I've never said to myself, "JF just made a call or decision that won us a game". I hate to go game by game or blame a single person for one loss, but I never feel like JF wins us anything. There are a lot of time I felt he had a hand in a loss.

Any examples of a manager winning a game?
