It always comes back to Cla Meredith... Always.

Not for me. You know me by now. I do not think that Red Sox are operating within the framework of any kind of budgetary restriction that most people think they are and I absolutely believe that the best players you have should be on your ml roster regardless of available options. if there is any chance that the comedy of errors that we call third base can be solved from within it definitely should be explored.

Seems like no matter who we put at 3B, they make errors.

Let's hope this is a sign of our offense coming and staying "alive"!

Of course. That would be nice.

One thing is obvious. What we saw today was much closer to what the Sox offense can be than what they have shown so far.

That AAAA lump that the Twins threw out there today was "salad" and the Sox should have pounded him.

Still, this team has too much talent to scuffle the entire season.

Runs will come.

Is there anyone else, besides me, who is bothered by the spelling, or perhaps the pronunciation, of 'Cla' in Cla Meredith's name? LOL

LOL Not really since Cla was brought up a few posts back, which reminded me about that.

While on the topic of words/pronuncations that sit well with me:

dough, cough, through, bough, rough

All end in 'ough', all pronounced differently. What's up with that?

Probably on track.

Either can be used there. Makes no sense, of course. It's like the contradictory use of the word 'downhill'.

'It's all downhill from here.'

'Things really went downhill from there.'

With apologies to Moon for getting off topic,

'inflammable' and 'flammable' mean the same thing. What???

Porcello with a 1.68ERA over his last 4 starts. Pitching much like his CY self a year ago.

Our pitching really has looked solid, Kendrick notwithstanding.

With bated breath, I wait for the offense to start performing up to par.

Good read about Xander and hitting....here's the best paragraph.

But we’re now 2,113 plate appearances into Bogaerts career, and he has an ISO of .122. Instead of becoming Carlos Correa, justifying his existence at shortstop with thundering rockets off the bat, he’s become a solid enough defensive shortstop who hits like a guy who plays shortstop.

I'm unwilling to pay a singles hitter $20M. But that's me.

To me, he's still not even a plus defender at SS.

I always doubted his power, and I felt like he'd be a good #2 hitter, at least until he "proved" he had power.

I'm still not against the idea of him playing 3B, but we have no better SS at the moment, and Devers looks like he's on track for the long term 3B position.

He's not worth $20M to me either, at this point.

Me.

It it should be Clay.

But 40% + of our country believes that Sun rotates around the Earth and voted for a criminal so I am not shocked.

So it's a good thing they aren't paying him $20M. But he sure is earning his money right now.
