Partially mitigates him throwing a routine grounder into the 1B seats.

Nice to know that we paid for the error and double.

And he was lifted for a PH in the 8th inning. But the good news for him was that he did not break his belt.

I think he wears stretchy waist uniforms....no belts.

How bad are the Giants to bat Pablito 4th?

Speaking of teams and ups and downs; we thought the Sox were whacked out finishing in last place 3 of 4 years sandwiched around a championship season, and they were, but the Giants recent history is pretty messed up too.

2002 Lost WS 4-3

2007 Last place

2008 4th place out of 5

2009 3rd of 5

2010 WS Championship

2011 2nd of 5 (no playoffs)

2012 WS championship

2013 3rd of 5 (76-86)

2014 WS Championship

2015 2nd of 5

2016 2nd of 5

2017 5th of 5'

It's hard to look at the Ginats now and think this team is just 2.5 years removed from being a team that won 3 WS in a 5 years span.

Very forgiving, good for you...lol

LOL Well, I was never mad at him to begin with, so I have nothing to forgive him for. :)

He made some mistakes. He tried his best to atone for them. It didn't work.

Now if you want to hear about unforgiving, I still haven't forgiven Damon for breaking my heart. LOL

They are an incredible 36 games out of the division. Credit the Dodgers for most of that, but still.

I remember when tickets at AT&T Park were hard to get but the secondary market has tickets starting at $6 for an afternoon San Francisco Giants game I hope to see in September.

Still my favorite stadium.

Day games are great but night games even in July are colder than November football games in the Northeast.

I was glad we didn't re-sign him, but him going to the Yanks was pretty "unforgivable".

It looks like a nice stadium. One of these days I'll make it to the west coast to see some ball games. :)

It turned out to be the right move for us to not sign him, but I was not happy when he signed with the Yankees. It broke my heart. Oddly enough, however, I had no problems with Ellsbury signing with the Yankees.

I was dead-set on us not re-signing Ellsbury. After the signing, I said, "I wouldn't have paid him half that much."

Damon could no longer play CF with that noodle arm. We had a LF'er and a DH.

(Side note: Manny caught a lot of grief and laughs for cutting off Damon's throw from about 20 feet away, but only Damon could possibly throw a ball that could physically be cut off from that short of a distance away.)

I've never seen the Sox play west of Texas.

Some day....

When my daughter started college in the Bay Area three years ago I thought I would see at least one game a year at AT&T Park. But I have not been there for probably seven years.

Kimmi, you are the talksox poster I would most like to sit next to at a ballgame.:)

I've never seen them play west of Baltimore. LOL

My ultimate dream is to see a game in every ball park, preferably when the Sox are playing.

Great picture.

It's funny how things like that work out. I love the beach, live 20 minutes from several beaches, and have the summers off, yet I rarely go to the beach. Go figure.

Thank you for the kind words. It would be my pleasure. :)

That's pretty much where I sat when I went to see the Giants while living out there. I hated those seats as it seemed like too much of a steep decline for me. I felt like I was leaning back the whole game. Oakland was always much more enjoyable for me.

You're ahead of me. I've seen games in TB, Baltimore (3), NYY (new stadium) and Cleveland. On my bucket list is a trip to Fenway, then on to Toronto, and both Ohio teams. Then make a loop back toward the east and pick up both Pennsylvania teams + the Orioles and the Nats. Then maybe NYY (I've seen Citi & the Mets) and hit Boston on the way home. I figure with any luck in scheduling it could be done in two-plus weeks.

I was in the 3rd deck at Coors Field and Holy Smoke! I felt like if I fell forward I'd tumble onto the field! The upside of that was that there was a bitchin' thunder & lightning storm that night off in the distance that I could see very well.

I've seen games at Fenway, New York (Shea and the original Yankee Stadium), Toronto (Exhibition Stadium), Cleveland (Municipal Stadium), Chicago (Wrigley and both Comiskeys), Milwaukee (County Stadium), Kansas City, St. Louis (the old Busch Stadium), and Houston (Astrodome). Obviously, most of the ones I've been to are no longer in use, which is explained by the fact that I haven't seen a major league game in person in probably 25 years.

Fenway, KC, Dodger Stadium and the old Yankee Stadium. I'd go more, but the tedium and hassle of getting to and from the stadium more than matches any enjoyment I could get from watching (this is esp. true of Dodger Stadium--they may now have a bus from Union Station, and if so, Ill try again). I thus prefer minor league baseball: you pay nothing, you sit close, you drive in with no problem, you rarely have to deal with belligerent a-hole fans, and everyone hits like crazy.

I have a friend who has seen a home game of all 30 MLB teams, completing the trick in September 2013 when I joined him for a game in Toronto.

My friend is now backtracking to see the new stadiums of teams that have built since his last visit. He returned to Minnesota last year and this season visited Houston, Miami and Atlanta. If I'm not mistaken, the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis is the only current stadium he has not visited.

In 2010 we saw MLB games at six East Coast stadiums, starting with Fenway Park, in eight days (we also saw three plays and toured the Gettysburg Battlefield). The previous year we saw MLB games in four Southwest stadiums in only three days. After watching our Trail Blazers on a Friday night, we flew to Long Beach Saturday morning, saw the Red Sox play the Angels that afternoon and the Padres host the Giants that evening. After attending a 7 am Easter Mass, we flew to Phoenix to see the Diamondbacks host the Dodgers on Sunday afternoon before flying back to San Diego. The following day we were in attendance for the Dodgers' home opener against the Giants.

I still have not seen MLB games in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay and Houston. I have not seen the new stadiums in Minnesota (although I attended games at the two previous venues), St. Louis and Texas.
