Everyone was riding that cubs bandwagon. I sure wasn't. Cleveland beat us and toronto. Two high powered offenses. Kluber and Miller have been the difference. To think they're missing two of their best pitchers.

The Cubs could still win it. I seriously doubt that they can win 3 in a row from this Guardians team.

 

They just win. And at a fraction of the cost of the Sox roster.

While it's not impossible for the Cubs to come back, their chances now are slim to none.

Glad the Cubs won tonight and are making it a series. Been a wild series so far that's for sure. Both teams deserve it this year.

There has not been a lot of scoring in this series. I love the pitching but jeez I'd like to see more back and forth run scoring, lead changes, and such.

 

The games are interesting to be sure. I'd just like to see some offensive outbursts.

Baseball has become a pitching-dominated game in recent years.

 

And in the postseason, things are even more heavily stacked in favor of pitching.

 

Maybe the biggest factor, which gets overlooked a little, is all the off days.

 

Cleveland has only played 13 games in 28 days since the regular season ended. As a result Tito has been able to use his 2 best starters and 3 best relievers to cover most of the innings.

Our pitching numbers ended up being pretty good. Not as good as Cleveland's. But there's also the old 'playoffs are a crapshoot' thing.

And there's the old guys who always s*** the bed in the playoffs seem to always s*** the bed in the playoffs thing too. Price and Porcello are abysmal in the postseason.

Well, they had the best 2nd half ERA, so it's hard to think our pitching wasn't looking good going into the playoffs. The Wright and Pomeranz injuries didn't help, and losing Carson Smith all year hurt, but Cleveland's pitching in juries were worse than ours.

 

We acquired Ziegler and Pom.

 

The Guardians acquired Miller.

The Guardians are set up pretty well with Kluber and a rested Miller. Maddon really used Chapman a lot last night. Should be interesting.

Cleveland is in a world of trouble
