He's played a 152 games to Bogaerts 150, Bradley's 148, and Pedroia's 148.

I've seen some crazy-ass s*** this year.

That play at the plate is one of them.

In fifty years of watching the Sox and other team's games I have never seen anything like that.

But when you are rolling good things tend to happen.

I'll take it.

Onto home field advantage!!!!

Even though it does not mean that much!

11 straight wins that started September 15, for crying out loud! That's the middle of September and these 11 games basically transformed this regular season for the AL East. The Sox for example, were 31-28 before the streak and are now 42-28, easily the best record in the AL East. They were 81-64 overall and are now 92-64 and likely tied with the Rangers for the best record in the AL.

Good thing the FO didn't trade Pedroia as one of us kept insisting for half the season. He is the one playing with a ton of heart and desire and setting the example for the youngsters.

Are you rolling your eyes at me?

Let me ask you this. After clinching the division, do you think it would be more prudent for Farrell to play his players full out for the remainder of the season to win HFA, or for him to get his players some much needed rest?

Actually, it might be possible to do both. Tomorrow is a day off for everyone, and right now the Sox are 5.5 up on the Jays, 1.5 up on the Guardians, and tied with the Rangers for the best record in the AL. No one in the rotation is overworked, and probably no one in the bullpen. That leaves the lineup. Betts has the most games, and Bogaerts the second most. Tuesday is Price against a Yankees starter still unnamed. It is possible to rest both in that game and go with Holt at SS and maybe Young in RF with Benintendi in LF and JBJ back in CF. I'm not sure HanRam needs more than tomorrow off, and I'm guessing that applies to Pedey as well.

And let's not forget that the last regular season game is Sunday, Oct 2 and that Thursday, October 6, is the earliest the Sox will have a playoff game against the wild card, the Guardians, or the Rangers.

All in all, I'm a little worried about this team getting too much rest, as crazy as that sounds. They have thrived on playing without days off and with lots of road games, including Boston one day, Cleveland, the next, and Baltimore the next after that. I think the Sox just played 2 that time in Baltimore and went on to another city.

I believe that Farrell is smart enough ( along with his two assistants ) to not only rest his players, win the divison, gain HFA, all while setting up the playoff rotation.

If he is not I would be surprised and disappointed.

2 hours and 11 minutes in between the Rays putting the ball into play, either for an out or for a hit.

That's f***ed up.

I'm telling you I have seen some strange-ass stuff this year!!!!1!

Haha just got home from work and watched the video of Dustin's slide. What the f*** was that? That was the most hilarious thing I've seen all year, and that includes every shot of Showalter from the dugout earlier this week.

I can't believe we haven't lost in nearly two weeks. We gotta save some wins for the playoffs though, but at the same time hope we get the top seed.

Betts is the absolute key to this team. As Betts go, so go the Sox has been true all year long. he is fading, late in games, and needs a couple of days off. Tuesday, after the monday off-day woulf be perfect. Everybody has had days off. Mookie is not a machine.

Does anybody else connect the Rays melt down to the boating accident in Miami? This game could have been held in abeyance until the end of the month. The Rays announcers never gave it a nod. Nothing!

Yes, I know. He also took batting practice every day of the All Star game period, and is always at a high intenity level. I just think it odd that his first two at abts are USUALLY his best at bats of the game. Batting averages are statistically higher over the last three innings. But it doesn't seem that way with Mookie. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't just make this up.

You're right about Mookie doing better in the early innings. Here are his batting average splits:

Innings 1-3 .376

Innings 4-6 .299

Innings 7-9 .270

Here they are for the AL

Innings 1-3 .265

Innings 4-6 .260

Innings 7-9 .247

Interesting.
